Reasons why we have a chance:

1) Senior QBs; and if one of them is not starting it is because Mettenberger is that good.

2) Two years of continuity with JJ and Crowton leading the offense.

3) La'el Collins will step in and replace Barksdale. Jarvis Landry might start from day one to make a Randle-Shep-Landry starting corps.

4) Amazing backfield. Ridley is a hoss. Murphy and Blue give you a different style. Ware can do it all.

5) Return 4 of 5 starters on the oline (Dworaczyk, Lonergan, Blackwell, Hurst - also return Hebert and Williford).

6) Young defenders now have experience - Reid, Mathieu, Barrow, Jones, Brockers, Mingo, etc.

Reasons why it won't happen
:

1) It is still JJ.

2) It is still Crowton.

3) We lose our defensive captain Kelvin Sheppard.

4) We lose Drake.

5) We lose PP.

6) We have to play Oregon to open the year.

That's kind of worrisome unless Shep makes some serious improvements before next season.

There are also external factors working in our favor if you look around the league. I assume Mallett and Newton will go pro, and Bama will be breaking in a new QB. Florida hasn't figured out anything on offense yet.

This team was three plays from being 7-5 (UNC, Florida and UT). Just because our QB's are Seniors does not mean that they will all of the sudden figure it out. Simply did not see anything to show that there is enough consistency to make a run next year. Think it is wishful thinking, but not reality.

First need to answer the question "Does Mettenberger sign with LSU?".

This team was also three plays from being 12-0. "If this" arguments are stupid.

This. I can't see Les losing less than 2 games with next year's schedule, when he couldn't do it in 2006 or 2007.

We will have as much talent or more than everyone on our schedule (just like this year) and go 9-3 (or 10-20) and Les gets another pass for such a hard schedule
