I used to hate Tulane, but they're pretty much irrelevant these days. Put them on line with La Tech, desperately jealous of the top school in the state.

LSU fans have always been a bit on the delusional side (especially on the Rant) but the notion that LSU's education is on par with Tulane's is just hysterical. Do any of you even read the news? LSU has been slashing its academic programs left and right.

As far as endowments go, do you even know how you measure them? Endowments are investment funds used by the university to operate the school. Endowment size depends on donations from alumni. Tulane's endowment was at $1 billion before the recession and economic downturn. Isn't LSU's at like $30 million? And you have close to 5 times the amount of alumni graduating each year?

You sure are putting those 'Tulane-level' degrees to use aren't ya?

If the education at Tulane is subpar, why do all of the publications that rate colleges have Tulane ahead of Ella's shoe all the time?

Because it is all political bull shite bro!

Those publications are being run by elitist that want school systems not like theirs (Ivy League type of schools) to fail. So they constantly rate all the schools, such as Tulane, among the top and LSU near the bottom...fact!!

Bad news for Tulane...UNO has a better Business Department! So suck it Tulane

LSU had an absolutely terrible alumni fundraising program prior to Emmert. I agree that it's terrible, but it isn't a direct reflection of education received.

Bingo!

Honestly, I kinda feel for them as I do some of the Cajun guys. Just seems like almost everything they touch bites them in the arse.

This might be one of the most blatantly incorrect things that I've ever seen on this site.

That will happen with some fans when you own like 50 National Titles and it even happens with some other fanbases who own none or a few.

Rice or Tulane may even have a few "delusional" types.

Of course, fewer than LSU but that's kinda to be expected with the vast difference in fanbase size.

But you said this...

quote:

The younger Tulane fans are all students, most of whom have no personal ties to Louisiana.

The most recent Tulane Enrollment summary (2009-2010) shows a geographic distribution of students from Louisiana at 35 percent, higher than all others by 15 percent.

That means that 65 percent of the students are NOT from Louisiana, genius. You just proved me correct.

I liked it when Tulane had a good team. I have nothing personal against their fans. I do think that most Tulane fans don't give a shite about their football team.

As for the education part, most Tulane students are better educated because on average they come from wealthier families who have access to better schools. In general, college education has more to do with the student's effort than the teachers. I knew many LSU students who didn't care. Then again, when your Daddy is shelling out 20 large a year at a private university, you better believe there's an extra motivation factor.

You know what, I did. I just realized that I wasted my time proving myself wrong and I am sorry.

But guess what, Tulane still sucks at sports and nothing I say incorrectly can change that!

Cherry-picking your statistics a bit, hmm?

Don't get too uppity, we'll talk with our friends at Texas, who can buy Rice and turn it into a parking lot.
