DL Who "Blew-Up" in One Year

It would be very helpful if at least one of our DL could elevate their game before '19.
Here's some examples:
Chad Lavalais - solid in '02. Maybe the best season ever for us as a DL in '03.
Drake Nevis - ok in '09; had some dominant games in '10 (Bama notably)
Brockers - played sparingly in '10; almost unblockable in '11.

Key blew up statistically as a SO and literally as a JR

Yeah but key was flashy as a freshmen before that. He was just a full time starter is Sophmore year.

Quinnen Williams
2017 - 20 tackles
2018 - Best defensive player in the country
Fun fact - ranked one spot ahead of Glen Logan in the 2016 recruiting class

Did Key even make an NFL team? If so is he actually contributing?

Perhaps in a play here-or-there. But few if any predicted the seasons they would have. That's my point.

Add Bennie Logan to that. Forgot which year, but he picked it up quick-like.

He was behind a few NFLmplayers last year
Logan was a starter almost all year.
Also OP: Chad Lavalais was a beast in 2002
He was All SEC (sporting news) and Second steam all SEC (AP) had 66 tackles 8.5 TFL 2 sacks and like 21 QB hurries according to his LSU Bio

Point conceded. Still he elevated his game big time in '03 (double # of TFL and sacks).

True just few of them came completely out of no where.
I think Lawrence could explode. Idk about Logan.

Logan, Lawrence, Fehoko, and Alexander have all played well. And Shelvin has shown some flashes recently.
I love Aranda but I really miss the 4-3. It lets the DL attack more instead of just taking up space/blockers.
If we can land Ish and/or Ika and our juniors stay, I really hope we see some 4-3 in 2019.

Logan should top the list, came outta nowhere in 2011
Nevis actually put up almost the same numbers in 09 as in ‘10, without starting a single game. Of course he played a ton of snaps in 09, probably more than the starters. But it’s always been kinda funny that he led the DLine in all stats without being a starter.

Aranda mostly runs 1 gap stuff.
Maybe the NT is trying to do 2 gap things.
What we really miss is great DL.

Wait...what?
Shelvin can’t make it from the sidelines to midfield without two timeouts and the injury cart. That passes for athlecism to you?

Ricky Jean Francois blew up in two games.
