I was hoping he could contribute right away. Our two-headed monster has been excellent, but our rbs next year will have no experience.

Realistically, neither will our QB.

Coming off a game where we have 2 running backs each break records in the same game....yeah we should take some touches away from them.

Why would a running back need experience?

Well, he hasn't looked good at all on kickoff returns. You have to shine when you get your chances when you're just a freshman with experienced and talented guys in front of you.

Its too damn bad that he can't take advantage of things like getting stronger in the weight room, valuable practice time, etc.

Seriously, come on man. Why do people act like players can't improve unless they are playing in games. Especially RBs.

He may run the wrong way ???

Not hit the wrong hole but literally run the wrong direction down the field with LSU players trying to tackle him. College RB's really need to get a lot of experience or they always run in the wrong direction.

Oh boohoo

We forced Brennan into the Troy game and look how that turned out.

Anyone giving the "young" excuse this year is in for a rough surprise next year.

Jonathan Taylor, true freshman at Wisconsin has over 1100 yard this year.

We'll be alright.

Experience is necessary to develop field vision, which can be critical to find cutback lanes. Also, getting hit a little bit and staying confident and fearless as a running back is important. I'm pleased with our running backs, but I expected Clyde to get on the field.

That's fine. I think some folks took this post as advocating for more playing time. It isn't. I simply expected him to get more playing time at the expense of Williams.

bullshite. They either see lanes and holes or they don't. Getting hit by linemen, backers and DB's does not improve a RB's field vision.

Not to mention getting hurt.

He is on the field EVERY game. You should try to catch one in the coming weeks.

There is no such thing as playing a QB too early. The only way they get better is through experience.

Ok, so running backs don't need experience. You're right. You are either good or you're not. So the fact that he is not on the field is alarming.

Ya, except we lost the game because we tried to get him some reps instead of putting it away first and then giving him reps.

I think getting accustomed to the pace of play will certainly help field vision for a running back. To think a running back cannot improve his field vision is asinine.
