Not many people realize this unless they've played on the O-line of a football team. It didn't look intentional to me FWIW.
Yeah. I play OL, so maybe that's why I don't think it was intentional.

Hardly enough time for the O-line to get upset about being handled.
Not upset, but it's done all the time. My best friend is a former Tulane O-Lineman, and says it's done all the time, not necessarily taught by the coaches, but by two linemen who are getting handled. I think it's pretty naive to believe linemen don't engage in stuff like that from time to time and try and get away with it.

You actually make a good point, that it could be due to LSU's dominance. The GT lineman tried to get a cut, the LSU guy was slanting, and the other GT guy, noticing some penetration, tried to block. That doesn't mean it's intentional.
True, but it doesn't mean it's not either.

The chop block was intentional, in fact, it is part of GT's modus opurendi. After the penalty, Nessler said that Les had been talking all week about the chop blocks he had seen on film and warned the refs to look for it. Oh, and i think a former frickin OL, OL coach knows what an intentional chop block looks like versus an unintentional one. Did Lsu make a chop block, I don't remember us being called for one.

I understand. I've wanted to take the legs out of some D-linemen every once in a while because the bastard was pulling my jersey like I was his prom date. D-linemen can't commit a holding penalty.

We had a penalty called on us too. That's why I don't believe the BS allegations thrown around by the original poster. The refs made sure that stuff wasn't going to fly.

My buddy "D" we'll call him, says his thing was to meet the D-Lineman with a punch of sorts using his forearm and elbow to his rib cage, and would do it all night, kind of like a boxer softening up his oppenent's ribs. It's tough to catch everything in that pile of people I suppose.

Cut blocks are legal...saw plenty of cut blocks by LSU on the edge for the designed running plays by JJ. They were well executed.
Chop blocks are certainly not intentional. It is typically when our guard misses his assignment and takes the DT that our center already has up high instead of going out to get a LB. This identical misread has happened about 6 or 7 times this year.

One team with a pattern that's hard to ignore.

ou do realize that the one GT lineman was doing a cut block (legal), the LSU D-lineman probably slanted away, so he reached to try to get him, while the other GT lineman, who saw the LSU guy start heading to his gap, engaged him.
Buckeye Fan, don't you know that all teams and refs are out to get LSU.

Wait, I thought all refs and teams were out to get Ohio St?

I tihnk it also had to do with the late hits on JJ, I noticed they were bringing the wood late on him, and he took some pretty good hits. I tihnk it was a deliberate action by LSU as a whole, players and coaches to grind GT some. Just my take.

That was chicken shite by Miles at that point in the game. He's lucky GT didn't follow it up with a intentional knee shot on Jefferson.....some coaches would call for that.
