Y'll need to reposition your dishes if you have that many problems with rain.
Antenna hooked up in case of monsoon.

A few weeks ago when we had that freaking low sitting over us for days with 30mph winds and heavy rain our Directv didn't even flinch.

Well I was home for lunch today and it was a monsoon and sure in the hell it was faded out! My dish is dial in perfect trust me. If it rains hard enough it does not matter that is why I have an antenna

At worst just put it on SD. It has to be a tornado for those to go out.

Mother fricker I never thought of that

But no thank you I will stick to my antenna. Going to SD is the worse and my wife says she doesn't see any difference

It all depends on signal strength. If you live in a more populated area you will have get a stronger signal beaming down to your dish. If you live in a rural area you may have issues. At least that's what the installer told me a few months ago. Like I said, we has some shitty weather a few weeks ago and it never flinched.

This. I used to have issues with rain all the time and funnily I called directv. They came out and said my 5 year old dish had warped slightly and was responsible for the problems. They swapped it out and I've been good ever since unless it's monsooning. Best part is it was free because I had the equipment protection plan. If you don't have it, sign up for it and call them out the next week then cancel if you want.

I'm no expert but I'm going to call BS on that theory. A satellite signal coming from space will be just as strong in BFE as it will be in a metropolitan area.
