Not big news. They've been talking for weeks

ESPNs contract with directv expires 9/30 and part of the renewal is longhorn and sec.

They are just hammering out details including price per customer

It will probably get done around mid August from what I'm hearing in the biz

Too much money involved. Mutually advantageous for both, so a deal in very near future is imminent.

It would be a dumb move to not carry it, a d DirecTV knows it. People would switch providers over not having SEC Network.

Right. The simple fact that there will be multiple live games on the sec network makes it critical to make a deal. They have way too much to lose.

It wouldn't be very good marketing if they said they were nowhere close.

It would probably be worse marketing to come out and say how close they are and how they expect to be able to provide that channel to their customers soon and then not do it. Nice troll attempt though.

What is the deal with the online portion? Will you have access if your cable provider has and agreement with the SEC Network? Or will it be like ESPN 3 and you Internet provider will need to have an agreement?

Or can anyone subscribe? Like GZ?

We cannot switch to U-Verse, but then, we have Dish, and it will be included in the AT200 (and possibly the AT120) and above for no extra charge.
