And I really dont think its his fault. Howver, since we know crouton is not going anywhere during the season.....A QB change is the only other option.

JJ could be great with the right OC but LSU's current combination of QB and OC produce vanilla results at best.

I dont have confidence in JLee but I realize this is the only other option at this time. If he gets in there and throws pick 6's and brings about the demise of Miles and Co......so be it.

Thoughts??

I for one have supported JJ throughout, disc'd Crowton for playcalling,...but after last night, it seems JJ fell apart after that first sanfu on the snap...never reagained his complete composure,..had moments, but was off his game all night,...not a big LET LEE PLAY..but, sometimes the play of qb, or lack of play, can affect what plays are called,...so..???

this, i'm no maven of the gridiron.

but, i want to see if JL can get the ball to receivers in stride.

our top three receivers are as good as any in the nation....and the team just isn't getting it done in the passing game

your post sucks.
You'd rather JL play poorly, LSU lose and LM get fired than JL play well and LSU win.

You suck and this JJ mancrush/JL hate some of you have is disgusting.

I disagree, to an extent. While it's certainly true that JJ could benefit from having a true QB coach to work with, I just don't think he possesses all the skills necessary to be a top-notch SEC QB.

He still stares down his primary receiver, takes WAY too long to throw the ball, panics when the pocket starts to collapse around him, and generally just seems lost out there. He can't consistently complete even the most routine passes, and he has a tendency to hang the receivers out to dry with poorly thrown balls.

The Chicken Bowl 2 years ago was his finest hour.

Whose fault is it when he missed a wide open reciever. Look I don't like GC's offense or lack there of, but last night is all on JJ. IMO

How can you be a great QB without being accurate? I would love to see that offense. He's not exactly Tommy Frasier.

what gets me is that miles keeps saying that lee had an excellent week at practice every week. he could shut up alot of people (including me) by saying "JJ is just better than Lee. I see it day in and day out".

It's not Miles's fault that Crowton and Jefferson suck. But it is his fault that they are involved in LSU football.

I support JJ but you have to realize he's just not that good. Does not have a touch on the ball and everything he throws is as hard as he can. Also very seldom hits a receiver in stride.

If he's the one the coaches have on the field though I support him. Go Tigers!

I said after the spring game that JL will be starting by third game. He may not start next week but he will play and be starting by WV game.
I also believe JL will pleasantly surprise!

Its time for Lee to get another shot. His intro into the "frying pan begining" at LSU was 2 years ago. nothing personal ,but JJs accuracy last night was horrible. I think the recievers are ready for a change.

I think last night had to be one of JJ's worst games. He could not hit his targets. You even saw it in RS showing his frustration after a miss by slamming the ball to the turf. These receivers are too good for this poooooooooooor of a QB. Sorry JJ, I had to say it.

You have to have the talent and be able to think at the same time. JJ can not get it done. Plain and simple.

Crowton, Miles, and the Offensive Line have all been blamed. He can't see the field or he simply can't hit a targer when he is excited. The WR's know it.

JJ does not seem to progressed one iota from last year. He is indecisive, does not seem to have any touch on his passes, and misses open receivers even when he has no pressure. He does not look confident even when running (option especially).
Lee deserves a second chance. He seems to have matured at a faster rate than JJ. I could sense a mood change when he came in and on his one pass, he looked better than JJ did all night. Miles seemed to allude to it in his post game interview. " “We’re going to continue to evaluate our quarterback situation,’’Miles said. “Frankly we’re going to expect more out of the position.’’
Miles’ other option is Jarrett Lee.

“I think both of those guys can give it to us,’’ Miles said. “I think Jefferson definitely can, and we’re going to encourage Lee because he’s a guy who is going to have to win games for us as we move forward.’’

The Tigers are in the "easy" part of the schedule now. I fear we will not fare so well if JJ continues to play like he has been playing.

i supported JJ for 17 games now, all in the hope of seeing him take charge and run the offense in a productive manner. my hopes have not been realized and i now believe he just doesn't have it. he has his moments but basically, he's not good as passing the ball. oh sure, his completion percentage is Ok, but not upfield. since he's not a real threat, teams tee off on our running game. also, i don't think he's that good of a runner; he seems to be a hybrid of a mediocre runner and a mediocre passer. lastly, i really question his ability to see the field. i agree that none of these things are his fault, he is what he is. i'm ready for the JLee roller coaster.

JJ I am sure is a great guy Just not a SEC caliber qb. Any way u cut it he just can't seem to get it done. Its time for a change. He takes too long to make a decision. That is not coaching.

Perhaps JJ's performance last night is evidence that our scheme is not working with his abilities. Granted that he has not looked good in many games, I just wonder how much our offensive play calling has lead to this over time. I have NO confidence in Crowton any longer and it was mentioned last night that Miles took over the play calling late in the game and that's when we put 17 points on the board. If that's true, then the negatigers on Crowton might just have a legitimate gripe. Just how much does calling the right sequence of plays for our players' abilities affect the momentum of games and subsequently our ability to score?

There have been many who have analyzed this and can't figure out what Crowton is trying to accomplish by calling some of the plays he calls when he calls them, and then under utilizing play makers (particularly in the 2nd half) who have had great production in the 1st half. He's like a guy who has attention deficit disorder and forgets what has worked because he's excited about trying something different.
