Wasn't Dietzel reassigned to fund raising as a special assistant to the LSU president instead of just walking with remaining contract money?

Why not do the same with Orgeron? Certainly this would be seen as a positive by those buy out contributors as some level of return on investment.

He left Army and went to South Carolina and won their only ACC Championship. Later came back here to be AD. I know he hired Bo Rein.

Because he’s a lazy, degenerate piece of shite who completely ruined the culture at LSU in 3 years. He needs to get his arse to Destin and never set foot on campus again, the love for him from some of y’all is absolutely absurd

Diesel left LSU to take the HC job at the USMA. It had been his career dream to coach at Army.

Dietzel

Youre thinking of this clown

quote:

Joe Alleva announced he is stepping down from his current position, but is transitioning to a new role within LSU.
Alleva will continue to serve in his current role until a new athletics director is named.
After that, he will serve as special assistant to the president for donor relations.

Yeah - I bought that at the time - then his 'real' dream job of coaching at ?South Carolina? popped up.

Was very disappointed in that => my very first realization that sports idols may not be perfection in the flesh.

I had forgotten Alleva was "reassigned."

The online digital library accessible through the EBRP Library website is worth getting a library card:

In February 1982, "Dietzel was reassigned within the university from the position of athletic director to special assistant to the president for the development of products and programs at his present annual salary as provided for in his contract and for the duration of the term thereof."

I realize that Orgeron is persona non grata, his getting paid $ 17 mil to not coach is insane and a testament to the brilliance of his agent.

It reminds me of Brad Pitt in Moneyball telling the actor playing David Justice, "the Yankees are paying you 4 million dollars to play against them."

THIS!!! I have never seen so many fans of a coach that destroyed Ole Miss and came to LSU and did even more destruction. LSU actually had decent football program before he destroyed it!

What one redeemable quality does he have to keep him around LSU.
