Didn’t realize Patrick Reed went to U High

Just Wikipedia’d his residence and saw he went to U High for high school and UGA for college before being expelled. Had no clue he lived in BR. Wonder why he didn’t go to LSU on golf scholly?

His dad got transferred for work to Baton Rouge. LSU did very much recruit him for golf. Patrick would hit range balls for hours every day at LSU golf course range.
His dad got transferred again for work, this time to Atlanta. UGA was elite at the time. Chose them. Got kicked off his first year.
There were some personality conflicts with Patrick and LSU players but it was an active consideration by both sides. Patrick loved LSU football while he was here and still cheers for them. His wife is an LSU alum.

Can confirm he is a huge douche. Heard that from multiple people who went to school with him.
And his wife’s younger sister also went to LSU and is way hotter than her. His wife is pretty meh compared to other golf wives.
Was reading an article last night about how he had a falling out with most of his immediate family and now they’re not even allowed (per him?) at his tournaments.

Fun fact, his wife’s younger sister was in the same class as him at Uhigh and he dated her first. They eventually broke up and he ended up marrying her older sister.
I hung in the same circle as him while he lived in BR. Can confirm he’s a total douche. He was also basically a child prodigy that new he was going to be a professional golfer since middle school, and those guys often turn out super weird.

It seems he has basically abandoned his family for whatever reason and really embraced his in laws (His BIL is his caddy). I’m thinking it can’t be that weird with the in laws.
I remember his wife was his caddy when he first burst on the scene.
Seems his drive really drove him to be great a golf and it probably was not in the most nurturing way. So the reason he is a great golfer and also estranged from his folks probably is due to how he was driven to succeed at a young age.
My understanding is Earl Woods was a pretty strict teacher and very demanding as well.
I remember his wife was his caddy when he first burst on the scene.

How do you have conflicts with teammates in golf ? You play your game. Others can't putt for you.
