You should have been a coach - for WVU! Every football game has adjustments at half-time. This is the 1st game this season where LSU got out-coached in the 3rd qtr. I think WVU gained more yards in 3rd qtr than all other games combined. Props to the Mountaineers for taking advantage of one-on-one matchup w Austin vs Baker and others. Would have been nice to see LSU blitz but I'm sure that's coming down the road....

Are you trying to say that LSU erred in unintentionally rousing WVU's offense from its 1st half complacency?

Erred? No...
did we give them additional motivation by scorning a punt to play our defense vs their offense one more time, then show that was absolutely the right move by taking the ball away for practically a TD? I think so.

I think something like that only happens very rarely, and it helped WVU play a LOT more focused (even more than they would in a good game for them) in the second half.

I also doubt we see another team play to that level of focus vs us again.

If we dont take the penalty, I believe it would have been something like 4th and about 4. Tough but a makeable short pass from Geno. I believe the ball would have been somewhere around the WVU 40 so they may have tried to go for it. It is surely a gamble but that is all it is. The percentage of them making a 4th and 4 are surely a lot higher than 3rd and 14. IMO
