I agree,LSU slumped at the wrong time as a team :hitting:Rhymes,Fields,Katz ect as well as our pitching: mainly Eads and to a extent Goody. We are a better team than SB but not last weekend,SB peaked against us and not this weekend at the CWS.
It still makes me sick that we are not in Omaha,I still think we could have done some damage there.

I hear you. Against LSU whey were. Definitely not showing anything now. I just suspected they were pretty good by beating the teams down in Miami.

Does it really matter we lost to SB because we would be getting beat just as bad as they are this weekend. UCLA and FSU are far better than LSU this year. Our only hope would have been Gausman throwing a gem in game 1 and LSU somehow find enough hitting to win. I said it then and now I knew SB was going to get drilled in the CWS because thier pitching is terrible.

Dont forget our leadoff hitter going 0 for the weekend but that pretty much sums it up. One terrible weekend doesn't mean you are a bad team It just feels terrible when it happens the weekend before Omaha.

Nah .. Gausman and Nola would have kept us in these games .. Our anemic hitting made SB's pitching look far better than it was .. We'd have been way more competitive than this ..

We played like shite against them and they were on their game. No way we would have gone out like that in omaha

Let's face facts .. They beat an incredibly overrated Miami team that got sent to the dorm by Missouri State .. Then they beat Missouri State and UCF twice .. Then caught us at a great time .. What is going on in Omaha doesn't shock me ..

It shouldn't really shock anybody. What was our team BA in the super regional? .145ish???

I have a hard time believing we would have been 0-2 in omaha with 2 crushing defeats.

Stoney Brook caught us in a slump which happened at the wrong time. The officials didn't help with the play calling, that was the worse play calling I think I have ever seen, late calls, inconsistency on the strike zone, etc. I know Stoney Brook is not used to the humidity down here, but we usually do not have three games in the type rain we had last weekend, which really did affect the defense.

It does chap my arse that our first super regional loss in alex box came to a team that will have went 0-2 in omaha with both being complete blowouts. Sure makes us look like shite.

I wanted them to win it all to make me feel better

We were struggling at the plate long, long before SB .. The 10th inning vs. Oregon State on 6/3 was pathetic .. Pitching and defense were getting us by this season in April and May ..

Pitching and defense could have carried us through omaha had our hitting at least been mediocre at the tail end of the season.

This whole CWS pisses me off. All 3 SEC teams are on the same side of the bracket, two of who we took the series from on their own turf, the other who we swept.

I'm more pissed off that SB went 0-2 than I am that we didn't make it.

my opinion, LSU is a good, not great ball club this year. The bats weren't there. I think we could have played better. A lot of things went their way at the right times and I'm not talking about just bad calls. That's baseball. I think they played their best against us but still think they're a good team. Not to be cliche but that's baseball.

Batting coaches are overrated.
