Didn't Reid get burn on that 80 yard TD or is that Lostons fault?
They both screwed up.

Don't know. Didnt ask Reid or Loston. But Liston looked slow all night.
Uh, 30 some odd yarder. Wide right.
Hilliard and then Blue. Blue made some nice runs. Surprised me. Didnt see Ware.

What about RB, who stood out? WR?
none, hilliard had 140 and 2 tds, but as crazy as it sounds, blue looked just as good. what little time he played, ford looked good as well. it's unreal how deep LSU is at rb.

So miscommunication in secondary?
the one td, to me it looked as if reid was trying to go for the int, he missed and the wr was gone. loston couldn't catch the guy either.
on a side note, this is the best defensive line i've seen at LSU in a looooong time.

Kenny Hilliard looked really quick and smooth for a big man. Blue looked good too.
Jarvis Landry made two ridiculous catches, he'll be a stud

2 RBs went over 100 yards (Blue and Hilliard), Landry and Kadron Boone looked very good at WR. Odell Beckham is all-SEC/All-America material in the return game.

Individual technique and execution issue on Reid's part. The shorter TD happened after the LB got picked by the ref unintentionally. Loston took a bad angle that made Reid's gamble worse.
Blue ran tough between the tackles and if he stays healthy can be a BEAST. Hilliard can break it and Ford is still consistently good. They all had problems in pass-pro which caused Mett to rush some throws.
Alleman pushed it straight and missed it just right of the right upright in the North End Zone.

For awhile I wasnt sure if NT was going to gain 50 yards in 4 quarters. D-line played well.

78 yarder

Wasn't it 82? Was just short too.

Thanks, this is the type stuff the stats doesn't show.
So with the way this thread has gone with pass protection, who was best pass blocking RB?

Nah. Even they were disappointing.
At least with the pass rush.

That was the issue. Mett got killed because the RB/FBs didn't pick up the blitz.

He didn't pick up the edge rusher early that took him out. There were some problems with backs and blitz pickup but that was on Mett.
The backs are concerning because this was an issue last year. Frank Wilson needs to fix this and how.

How was he in the scramble when he could? Good decisions (i.e. slide when he had no chance vs trying to be hero)?

LSU didn't win 77-0, and did to this, LSU has no chance vs. Bama.
Not sure why. That just seems to be the consensus tonight.

Just watched the play where he got fricked up again. There is no blocker to account for the corner blitz. It was coming right to Mett's face. He has to account for that guy. There were plays where the blocking failed him, but that was not one if them.
ETA: This game has ZERO impact on how I feel about LSU's chances against Bama. There are thigs that need improvement, but I will never count Les Miles out in a big game, even after 1/9/12.

+1
Theory: he had 0 ability to check out on his own tonight and as a result, wasn't really reading Pre-snap at all.
Disclaimer: the preceding is complete conjecture and could be complete bullshite.
