Saban continuously preaches dominating your opponent for 4 quarters. Miles preaches it for 2.

I certainly noticed......It was my first thought when Bama went up by 21..........I said to myself "watch this Saban is not about to take the foot off the gas just yet"

Things have changed, Saban used to be notorious for going ultra conservative when he had the lead.

People can change. Maybe Miles can too.

Impossible. He's perfect.

Last night wasn't so much not taking the foot off the gas...it's a matter of the offensive line dominating so much that they're going to keep scoring no matter what you do.

If Miles learned anything from last night, I hope it's that you don't have to wait for a turnover or big kick return to try and score with your offense. Alabama drove more than 80 yards 4 times on Notre Dame last night. I bet LSU didn't drive more than 80 yards for a touchdwon 4 times all season. If we start with poor field postion, Miles curls into the fetal position and hopes for a great punt by Brad Wing to flip the field.

Miles doesn't play the game that way - at least not lately. He plays not to lose

Running the ball against Clemson to burn timeouts would be playing not to lose. Instead Miles passed three times. It doesn't fit your narrative very well.

Sometimes bad results happen even when coaches do smart things. But many fans will always claim that bad results are because of stupid coaching.

I've never seen Miles lose a game in which his offensive and defensive lines dominated as much as Bama's did last night.

He did, but the Bama offense was so complicated that he got a pounding head ache and had to lay down at half time. He couldn't understand how in the world another coach can come up with so many different offensive plays and not run the option once.

Notice I added all season. It's not a one game issue. It's a philosophy issue. LSU is entirely too predictable. Opposing defenses know exactly what plays are coming. They really only have to prepare for about 3 running plays and 3 passing plays.

It frustrates me to hear analyst break down last nights game by saying, "Notre Dame was stuck. If they put 8 players in the box, Bama would beat them with the McCarron. If Notre Dame left two high safeties, Bama would beat them with the run."

How many times did we watch Les Miles slam Spencer Ware or Jeremy Hill into an 8 or 9 man box this season? Way too many!

I'm sure he watched the game and took notes, hopefully on the O-Line's execution
