I keep seeing, "he needs a great OC and we have to keep Aranda."

Basically O was hired to recruit, yell, and speak frankly on the radio. So if Les had yelled more and gotten away from Coach speak he would have been the perfect hire as well? Just needs an OC right?

Hey, if he hires a great offensive and defensive coordinator, we may have a shot to be Bama.

We sure did... this hire will be a hit or miss based on the OC hire. Craziest sh*t I have heard.

Micromanaging your coaches you hire is what gets coaches and business leaders in every field in deep shite. Orgeron found that out the hard way at Ole Miss. You can't and should never do it all. You should however, hire well, and facilitate the means of them being successful, and so you and the program successful as a result.

He is likable by the fans, I saw it on ESPN. He talks like "y'all." What more could you ask for in a coach but one that speaks like his supporters.

Yeah I doubt Saban, Harbaugh, Meyer, Fleck, Herman, etc coach their teams either. They just sit back and watch.

It's the polar opposite of the Saban model.

Reminds me of all of the "you just don't understand football" during the Pro-Miles anti-Miles crowd. Comical really

Miles was a hard headed person who didn't let the offensive coaches do their jobs. Coach O will hire great assistants and let them do their jobs.

fricktus, he could coach the D line if he wants, ala Saban and DBs. The HC doesnt have to "coach" one side. For instance. Herman has and OC fool

Ok, but is that all you should do? Why are we under the assumption that any other coaching hire we made would automatically mean sub-par assistants? At a school with the resources of LSU, this should have never been an either/or discussion. We absolutely could have had a coach that is both a strong staff manager and a strong football mind.

This reminds me so much of when Grambling hired Interim he'd coach Melvin Spears as full time coach. Past players loved him and He was Grambling inside and out and a tireless recruiter.

No real National search at all. I hope O works out better for Lsu.
