When ESPN has a highlight package of your pick six interceptions cued up and ready to roll, it kind of puts the stink on JLee.

So true.......
By the end of the year Lee will be one of the top 3 qbs in the SEC behind Mr. Tebow.

all those are, are picks, with respect to judging lee
he's a gunslinger. he's going to throw picks, especially with the limited gameplan we're running
he's also going to make a bunch of big plays, and he's made MANY more big plays than bad plays this year

Lee will only get better, he hasn't thrown that many picks the one's he has thrown have hurt, as they have led to points scored. I don't like the Hatch/Trindon package because everyone knows the play that will be run.
Everyone wanted to see adjustments on D, and we saw a new look faster D line. I think this is the answer the rest of the season, we have the big package for run stopping, and the smaller one for pass rush.
The D backs are still letting recievers run away from them or miss playing the ball in the air. You can only coach that so much, what Jai Eugene did when Garcia left the pocket in the 4th quarter could have cost the game, but overall I was pleased with the intensity, we still have alot to improve on, but at least the scheme looked better. Everyone was screaming for adjustments and at least we saw some, will it work against the dogs and Bama?

In general, Lee's footwork is terrible. His arm is really strong because he throws off his back foot nearly all the time.
Lee's footwork is fine. Hate to break this to you, but the QB just can't ask the D line to step aside to ensure he's got room to step into his throw. Any great QB (Lee not one yet) has to be able to get the ball off while avoiding the rush. Sometimes, this means throwing off back foot, and sometimes it means fading away from the defender.

Without Hatch last night, we lose. Impressed with losing?

I thought Hatch and Lee both played well.

tell me which play will be run, and I bet I can think of another one to run instead

My problem with Lee (not that we have any other choice) is that his passes often require the receivers to make adjustments to the ball b/c they're high, low, or behind the receiver, especially on short or intermediate routes. While the WR is able to catch the ball most of the time, it does not enable him to get as many yards after the catch as they could have. Lee does seem to throw better down the field than he does on short routes. I think we should call for more deep passes than we currently do.

Lee played well last night, but there were still a lot of times when he is very inaccurate. It would also help if our receivers caught balls that hit them in the hands when he puts it in there though.

2 others should have been picked off...he got lucky
Posted on 10/19/08 at 9:56 am to StatMaster
Lee has been off. Too often he sets up the receivers to get hammered. Either they are going up for the ball or reaching back for the ball.
Once he settles down, sees the field, doesn't stare down receivers, and plants his feet, he'll be great. Until then, 2 QB system to win the game.

perhaps this why you missed some of Lee's poor decisions in the passing game...

I hadn't been either up to last night and he'll never remind anyone of Herb Tyler with his running. But he looked by far the best he's looked all season last night. And he was used properly unlike in prior games where there was absolutely no chance of him passing the ball.
