Our defense seemed like it went into a slump a few games before he was fired then gets fired our defense is back. Don't know just seems fishy

He liked complimentary football. If the offense sucks then the defense needs to suck too.

Kelly held the whole team back. The lack of development by his high school recruits prove that. That said, I think the slump you're referring to was because we played some mobile QBs that whipped our arse.

Kelly was unmotivated and unprepared, can't imagine that is good.

the only game they fell apart was 2 half of A&M. They played well enough to put us in a 11-1 position even if you assume that was just an off performance.

They held everyone back. The defense probably didn’t play hard a few series here and there cause what’s the point? The offense was giving them no help

I mean he held everything back but the whole not having Whit Weeks thing definitely played a very large factor in the defense being rough for a few weeks.

Might have more to do with Whit missing those games. Baker called him his defensive QB, and he was clearly the emotional leader too.
