He's an undersized pitcher who gave up his pro ambitions as a MIF to help win a CWS for his team on the mound with a weak bullpen and did so.

I think he was probably advised that his best shot at making it at the professional level was to give up on being a position player.

He has completely outperformed his talent yet yall are upset that he's not better.

I mean I’m going to be upset anytime a LSU athlete isn’t performing well. If his talent level isn’t good enough to be at LSU, then he shouldn’t be playing at LSU.

I appreciate everything he has done for LSU and have defended him in the past, but he’s not above criticism.

I can't know for sure but I doubt he would've given up on himself as a hitter just a couple months into his FR year.

I don’t think he gave up on himself. I think he was told that there was no way he would see the field that year as a position player, but could see the field as a pitcher.

he made a position switch that benefitted the team and directly contributed to a CWS championship.

I think most people realize that and appreciate it.

He takes a ton of hate from the rant for no real justified reason.

He wasn’t very good this year. I won’t go out of my way to hate on him, I’m just telling you why he receives the hate that he does at times. Also, his attitude plays when he is doing well, no so much when he has a season like this past year.

I'm pretty sure he gave it another run after his freshman season as well.

And there it is. And this is the major reason people will defend him and twist realities. Simply because he is from Louisiana.

Look, Guidry has had some great moments wearing an LSU uniform. He has been a part of greatness. He shows fire. He obviously loves LSU.

All of that can be true. But overall he has not be this lock down great pitcher for LSU. He wanted to play infield, and couldn't hack it. If he was the superstar some make him out to be, he would be drafted already. All of that part is also true.

I think Guidry could use a cameo from Coach O.
