The Miles and Jefferson that beat Arkansas, Georgia, and Auburn (Herbstreits SECW rep), three teams that they talked about contending? They almost fricked up and mentioned LSU, then caught themselves as if it were on purpose.
I guess you believe we are on the level of MSU, Kentucky, and Vandy that don't have a chance of winning a division. I know the clowns at ESPN don't believe that, but there was no mention of us having a contending team this year.

That guy just picked bama to go 12-0.
Not to say we'll beat them, but they have one of the hardest schedules I've seen especially with all those teams with bye weeks. ESPN is falling off alittle IMO

bigger travesty IMO was when they put up who were notable in the Bednarik award race and there was no Clayborn and no Heyward, who most likely are top 10 picks in the draft next year
yea not talking about LSU is not smart by them either

Just my opinion that it's possible that Les made the college football crew at ESPN angry by making them look like liars, or at the very least incompetent, when he gave the "have a nice day" presser. A couple of their talking heads flat out called Les a liar afterwards.
Herby works with all the CFL guys (analysts and producers), travels with them, probably good friends with plenty of them. He was publicly embarassed and had his professionalism questioned in that situation. If all of his colleagues believe he was right and Les changed his mind and lied about not being on his way to Michigan, they
have the power to keep positive exposure for his program to a minimum.
Just a thought considering the things I noticed and posted earlier about ESPNs coverage of LSU. It's not like I lose sleep about this or anything.

So they just assume Bama will beat LSU at LSU when it took a ginned up called to beat LSU last year and a late INT the year before to beat LSU

Do you people really think ESPN has a vendetta against LSU ?
If so
If so

Could be crucifying LSU? Yet they spend all their time talking about an auburn team who had no defense in 2009, was getting beat by one of the worst offensive teams in the nation 31-3, lost to Northwestern in its bowl game, is breaking in an unexperienced qb....and has an unproven coach. Frankly, if they are all over that bandwagon, I don't want them on mine. How much do they get it right anyway? After a few weeks they will be all over new bandwagon teams and be telling you why they love these new teams so much. They are in no lose situation...they can say what they want...and spin it later.

What would make this kind of negative press against LSU an advantage would be for the opposing teams and coaches to take it as fact. Trust me...that won't happen. LSU by virtue of their last 3 recruiting classes (minus QB's of course) are one of the most talented programs in the country. If LSU fixes their offensive line problems, establishes a solid running game, and takes the pressure of JJ or Lee by forcing 2nd or 3rd down short yardage situations, watch out. The national media is meaningless. No coaches listen to it and they all preach to their teams not to listen to it. LSU is respected by who counts. ESPN's take on LSU is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

In all fairness, the talking heads said that could probably be their toughest test. It's funny, the media will not give lsu any respect, but everytime they break down an opposing team's schedule they usually circle the lsu game.....I don't believe in vendettas...but I do believe in an unreal amount of fanmail in a negative way that may sway the views of an analyst...They won't have any choice to acknowledge lsu once the season gets going. Can you imagine if Les were to win another BCS Championship and his 4th top 5 in 6 years...lol..and yet the media still wouldn't respect him...but frick em'....just win baby.

I guess Saban let ESPN hang out for a week and invade his space just for the hell of it.
Obviously, if you continue to win and recruit well despite poor PR, or lack of any PR, ESPN is irrelevant.
OH SNAP, they just mentioned LSU on SC. " its easy to see why Les Miles is on the Hot Seat with LSU only coming in at #21" -on the preseason AP ranking, background giggling included

ESPN does not hate any school. They just love some more than others.

Everyone turn over to Sportscenter. They are talking about the rest of the poll now. Let's see how much they hate us.
