My experience shows that the app works best with Apple products. I have NEVER had viewing problems using the app on my IPhone or using my AppleTV. However, I almost always have issues when I attempt to view using my PC. BTW, all three are connected on the same network.

It sucked for me. Freezing up and pixellation.

Worked flawlessly on Roku. I have had so much trouble over the last year that it was ridiculous. I was using a computer as a media center and watching it via a browser. Horrible. I recently moved and internet is faster and using Roku it worked great. Hopefully, a sign of things to come.

I had it on Chromecast in one room and Apple TV in the other. Chromecast disconnected a few times, but no problems with Apple TV at all. The reauthentication deal is a PITA, though.
ETA: Apple TV was a good bit behind Chromecast which was interesting.

The problem I was having was whenever I tried to stream it to my chromecast I would get an error saying my tv provider doesn’t allow watching on that device. I finally deleted the watch ESPN app off of my phone and then reloaded it. I logged out of the app and then logged back in. No more issues after that

Depends on what smart TV you have. There should be an apps section on the TV. My Vizio has one.
If not, you could also just go the Roku or Apple TV route. Might be better for you in the long run, as Smart TV's apps can be clunky at times. Roku's are pretty cheap and work great.

Pretty decent, better than most years.

I cast the video from my phone via the WatchESPN app. No real problems but the video did pixelate at times but it never froze last night.

I have AppleTV 4 and there were 2 times that the video froze but the audio kept up with the action.
Both times, after 10 seconds, the video came back in sync with the audio.

Audio was fine--in time with the action. The video was choppy; it would freeze for a split second every couple of seconds or so. I didn't see that problem last season.
same here. last year it was perfect.
