Seems to me like Alleva is pretty quick to say "frick it, have it your way" when our retarded good ole boy club powerful alumni push for "their guy", a la Orgeron and Jones. I think he's a historically bad contract negotiator but I also think that he's much more adept at coaching searches than he seems and gets credit for on this board, my grandpa played football at LSU and is still close with many of his teammates who are still heavily and deeply involved in the program and I know exactly what happened in 2015 and that whole situation was a huge frickup on F King Alexander's end along with our governor. If we had a president with some balls who was committed to having elite athletics then Jimbo would undoubtedly be our coach right now IMO.

Alleva is mediocre but F King Alexander is a total media obsessed SJW moron who belongs nowhere near an SEC school and things will not change until he and the corrupt politicians and BOS'ers running our school are gone. Coaching searches are to Alexander as the offense was to Les Miles from 2012-2016, change AD's as much as you want but Alleva isn't the one (figuratively) calling runs up the middle repeatedly.

Well said

The problems are far greater than Alleva and Orgeron

They don't all have $12M buyouts and a losing record. 3 or 4 Million buyout would have been respectable and fair. $12M is atrocious. 8M would be bad. If they don't fire Alleva, they need to ban him from any contract negotiations.

Are you fricking kidding me? NOBODY ELSE wanted that motherfricker. He wasn't even getting interviews. In all honesty, he should have been grateful to have consideration at all.

The only explanation I can find to this astronomical buyout is a that Allevais trying to protect O and give him as much time as possible.

I heard from someone really connected in the Athletic's Department that Coach O actually negotiated the higher buyout/lower salary finances so that he had time to implement his system. I have no reason to doubt the guy hasn't steered me wrong yet.

Who approved this buyout? There is no way in hell Joe can just sign off on that on his own

No doubt I think Alleva tried to do the right thing in 2015 and got humiliated He went for it with Fisher and Herman and got used

You gotta wonder if this wasn't kind of an "F U" to the people that didn't let the deal go down in 2015.

Alleva had wanted to fire Miles for awhile hadn't he? And when the shite show that went down in 2015 after he had Jimbo lined up and ready to take the job you think it pissed him off and he took this as an opportunity to give the finger to those that wouldn't let him pull the trigger in 2015.

Hiring Orgeron is one thing but giving him a 12million buyout????

This is a good post. Alleva is getting all the heat, and while I think he's an idiot, FKIng is the real villain here. Well, that and the good ol boy network, but we are stuck with them forever, and need a leader like Emmert that is strong enough to tell them to back off.

As bad as Emmert has been at the NCAA level, he was tremendous at LSU
