Why would you ever take a dynamic playmaker off of your offense to play on defense?

It seems every year some on these boards want to move a stellar offensive player to LB.

In White's case it would be a tremendous waste ofhis talent. A RB like him doesn't come along often. A LB like him is average.

Probably because we have fournette, Guice, Williams and Brossette at RB already?

And we are thin at LB. Its not like he cant go back to rB after this year or next... jeez

He would get drafted higher at LB.

That's bullshite. Chavis and Steele left us gutted at LB. This is the worst depth we've had there in 10 years. Chavis just stopped recruiting and Steele decided he would spend all of his time on the Bama LBers (fricking stupid)

Leonard fournette, Derrius Guice, Nick Brossette, DWilliams, David Ducre.

I wish you would have said this earlier in your post, I would have stopped reading. Clearly you've never seen him play or his film. Congrats on playing yourself.

Could you imagine what Aranda could do with that athleticisim. Linebacker is a bigger need that RB in the league. LB is Devins best shot at playing on Sundays. This kid is built exactly like NaVarrow Bowman

LSU had been recruiting devin white mainly for LB since day 1. We need him where he is needed the most. And that's LB.. not 3rd string RB.

I'm fine with him switching to LB, but the above statement is just false.

Not true.

But he did say he was open to the idea of playing some LB.

well in this case, the coaching staff and the player are certainly entertaining the idea

no it wouldn't and actually it would be the quickest way to get his tremendous talent on the field

First off, he also plays LB. second, when will he play offense with LF, DG, and DW? And last, he has said he will play wherever he is needed. He is a team player and willing to do whatever it takes to get on the field. He is a class act

This is not difficult..........

* He is a freak of an athlete, everyone agrees
* LSU is stacked at RB (he will not see the field)
* LSU is thin at LB, he could be a HUGE addition at LB this year
* Move him back to RB in his Soph year (if he desires)
* Gives LSU more flexibility in 2017 recruiting class

Worry about something else............

They have already moved Thornton to LB. Devin Voorhies is also moving to LB you have 2 more LBs coming in as well as returning players Riley, Beckwith, and others. To take a premier RB and put him at LB is stupid when there are other players on the team and coming in who do not posses White's ability at RB. It is simply not needed and I seriously doubt it will happen.
