You should forward the response you received to the Destin chamber of commerce:

Destin as well as other cities in Florida depend on tourism for money, and is a VERY popular summer destination for Louisianians.
In fact Louisiana is in the top 5 going to northwest Florida, and bringing our dollars, so I would not let this pass.

I live over here, y'all don't hate the area as many from LA own property here and the LSU fan base is strong! However, cant believe this establishment made the comments as I know the owner. That being said the owner, who is Nick's dad I think, is the nicest most gracious owner in Destin. Could be classic Kids f'n up family business.

Here is their response, looks like Nick's butt hurts A little bit.

No excuse for putting this in writing, horrible choice. Lol

To the fans of LSU and other sports teams,

Harry T's has upset many LSU fans and I want to first apologize. It was not our intention to insult alienate or upset you. I would like to explain the reasoning behind the actions we took on Saturday.

Four college teams have approached us to be the "headquarters" of their alumni. The deal was we host their teams and they would bring all the alumni and all the business. And so we do, but it's not as black and white as that. As the General Manager, the one who worries about the bottom line, it's poor business practice. The football discounts are not profitable or the restaurant and all of the inside area is taken with the fans. So why do we do it? The owner has raised two young men who both attend college. He is a major contributor to their college and has a lot of respect for young people trying to do well. On these football days we raise money for scholarships for the respective schools. We have raised over $31,000 to date.

The Florida Gators were concerned with actions of one individual last Saturday. One bad apple that tried to give all of LSU a bad name. That individual had threatened to send unknown persons in to physically attack some Gator fans. It was the president of the Gator Alumni that asked if we would keep the inside area for Gator fans only. We went next door to Jackacuda's and let them know we would send all the LSU fans there. Everyone could enjoy their teams.

Anyone, football or not was welcome to sit on the patio outside. The weather was beautiful and it was sans any Gator activity. We have several guests wearing LSU garb enjoying their meals there. Non one that I spoke to was upset about the limitations on the seating area.

Nick responded to one guest who was apparently treated poorly at tithe door Saturday night. This was, and is no, part of his responsibilities within the restaurant. He was an overzealous new manager, he has been since reprimanded and is no longer a manager at Harry T's. The part of his letter about trepidation over LSU fans was completely false. In fact, the owner's wife is from Louisiana and is herself an LSU fan.

Again, I apologize to Don and any LSU fans we may have ostracized. It has always been our intention to do good with the football games; raise money for kids and let everyone have fun. Everyone is welcome at Harry T's.

I don't think a lawyer wrote it.

I don't know what this sentence means. I read it 4 times.

Non one that I spoke to was upset about the limitations on the seating area.

Other than the above, it's still poorly written. I think he made the situation worse.

Nick is really the owner's son? Wow.

I pass Harbor Village every day for work. I will swing in tomorrow with a sharpie and draw some STTDB's inside the bathroom stalls

I'm an LSU alum, die-hard Tiger fan, and resident of the Destin/Fort Walton Beach area. Harry T's is probably my least favorite place in town...rude employees and overpriced food and drinks. The ONLY thing they have going for them is the view, but the view is far from exclusive to them. I have never had a good experience there...with or without my LSU gear on. It's a total tourist trap, and there are far better places to spend your time and money in Destin. Don't let this one place keep you from coming back to the area...there are plenty of local spots that will welcome your business, regardless of which team you cheer for!

I actually sent a serious email. I own and manage a rental condo in Destin. I send out a list of restaurants we like...they are not ever going to be on it. The majority of my renters are from La, Ga and Tennessee. I do not wish for them to be treated badly for supporting a non Florida SEC school.

I've been trying to call. The number is off the hook busy.

I was going to ask for Nick. If I couldn't reach him, I was going to leave a STTDB message.

I suggest that the annual SEC meeting be moved from Destin to another gulf coast city.

I just read a letter from the restaurant that as a LSU fan I am not allowed to eat at the restaurant. Every year we rent a home on the beach during the month of November. During the month, we usually average 8 meals at the restaurant. So, I am really surprised to learn that my family and myself were not welcome. I know there have been times we have walked in and someone had a LSU shirt on, but we were never told anything. Now, our concern is whether someone tampered with our food before it was served to us.

I understand the decision you reached is your own as is the business and we will take our business elsewhere so the family is not confronted with being denied entry.
