Lets face it, we will suck for another year or two on the DLine.

Bunch of haters in this thread. We will be improved next year and I hope CG comes here and starts over Welter.

I have been saying this all along - we are in serious trouble at the DT position. Arguably the most important position in our conference. Our back ups were only back ups this year bc they were the only non-freshman bodies on the roster. As weak as we were at the position and fact that none of the true freshman saw the field is telling. We need two studs this year who are ready to play. No gilmore and Bain type guys who may have the ability in three years. Those guys were not can't miss prospects

Depressing thread here. Whenever we field mediocre lines on offense or defense, we pay the price (see: 2008, 2009 and 201 seasons.)

Other than QB, DT is the hardest position to contribute as a true frosh unless you are the elite of the elite. That's why Ego and Freak need to buy us another year to develop Bain and Gilmore.

I'm guessing Ego and Freak will both leave. I can maybe understand Ego, but Freak isn't ready. So, the depth chart might look like this at the start of the season:

1st team - Lacouture, Thomas
2nd team - Bain, Gilmore or maybe Herron
3rd team - One of the three listed with second team, along with Willis (unless he's strictly a DE), and maybe Godchaux, if he's recovered from his ACL injury.

Mickey Johnson doesn't appear he's going to factor in. If Willis is a full-time DT, I can see him shooting up the depth chart as the season progresses, assuming he lives up to his billing (and also assuming we sign him).

I'm hearing ego might return but freak is gone. Still early, though
