Deciding to go pro early = no turning back? Why?

If a player doesn't get drafted, what is the reasoning they couldn't return to college and play until their eligibility is completed?
We started playing players and allowing transfers left and right, so I am just tossing it out there... Why not?

It would be tough to fill a recruiting/transfer class without knowing the true number of roster spots.

Most players hire an agent when they declare for the draft. Hiring an agent often includes getting an “advance” on their pending riches.

They are considered marketing agents. It is essentially an agent but the term is coined differently as a loophole
