It was a business decision if they were in the business of winning National Championships.

We all know that is not what they mean.

they're referring to "show me the money" not the rings...although that certainly was a nice by-product.

Keep up homer.

Is that ring worth $10,000,000?

If I wrote you a check for ten million and said you can choose the money or the ring, which would you take?

Thought so.

And, your argument makes no sense, bc the outcomes may have been very different had that talent stayed home.

With Miles at the helm, it's hard to not worry still. Dude refused to change even when he was close to losing his job.

Kids are not going to Alabama because of the NFL, they are going to Alabama because it's a better football program than LSU. And they want to win a couple Natty's before they go pro.

Maybe I am missing the point, what is it?

I realize you responded later, just using this post to make a point. Alabama has had multiple 5 star Louisiana athletes play for them. By definition a 5 star is projected to be a 1st round draft choice. Not one of them has made it. LSU has had multiple LA players drafted in the 1st round. Even more ironic, the players were rated lower coming out of high school. I believe this applies to our recruits overall. Alabama recruits a lot more 5 star players than we do but we have just as many 1rst round pick.

The take-away for me is that LSU does a better job of coaching up there players and getting them ready for the NFL than does Alabama. Or maybe they just do a better job of evaluating their recruits.

They are repeating what they are told by Bama staff, that it is a "business decision." The staff are telling them that they will increase their draft status by committing to Bama. The recruits believe them despite evidence to the contrary. Coach O will do a better job of debunking this myth than Miles did.

Or maybe they just DID a better job...

Doesn't this whole thread/argument become irrelevant since the coaching change?

I don't think it's irrelevant> Some of the best position coaches are still here, especially Raymond. Aranda is a huge upgrade, see Duke Riley. Question is still out on the offense although I would put Tommy Robinson up against anybody. I expect Canada to be a bid upgrade over Cam. The offensive players will have a chance to shine. I think we have upgraded our staff overall, maybe significantly. Now we need to put some W's on the board.

This matters more for the next level than the head coach. They spend a lot more time developing the players.

ETA and who changed my title?
