Anyone that has been going to games for awhile now, when I say "awhile" i mean 2000 and before that, should know that tiger stadium just isn't the same. Whether people like it or not the electricity that Death Valley is known for is just not there anymore. It may take a new coach to get it back or a few crappy seasons to get it back to what it used to be. Just wanted to see if yall feel the same way or am I just crazy for thinking this.

Based on the general feelings of people on this board, tiger stadium is going to feel more like a road game against Aggy.

there is truth to that. imo, the avg age of the game attenders is probably higher and older people aren't as vocal. also, I think your year 2000 base line is way too early. the problem in the last 5 years has been our teams performamce in big games.

This is the issue. Bama and OM games were electric from what I hear. Energy level off the charts but when we are losing to mediocre teams it just isn't there. Because of how we've played I'm not sure opponents fear playing in Death Valley at night.

I have been going to the games since 1966 so I can speak with some authority on the evolution of Tiger Stadium. I think a lot of it has to do with the corporatization of the ticket holder base. Some of the regular die hard fans are getting old (not me)dying off (not me yet) and being replaced with people who get tickets from big donors (nothing against big donors). Tiger Stadium at its peak was Florida 2007, but some of the loudest games I have been to was when the stadium held 67,500 people.

I absolutely agree with this...most of the folks that sit around me every week have absolutely no interest in the game...

they spend 3 quarters talking randomly about everything but football...and then leave.
