You may not be a true fan. Toonces was a total embarrassment to LSU fans. I’ve talked to so many LSU fans who have avoided buying toonces items, but would have purchased non-toonces merchandise if it had been available. The person(s) responsible for approving/sustaining toonces should be called out. The logo should have been canned years ago. I have recently started to slowly build back my LSU clothing/merchandise collection that was largely stifled during the toonces era.
The fact that LSU has had success in athletics during the toonces era is just a coincidence. Just imagine how much more LSU merchandise would have been sold absent toonces.

This really makes my day. I can finally buy LSU merch, or have it gifted to me without worrying about that damn cartoon cat.
Also, can we get a sticky?

This was the worst of it. I would always avoid buying this logo, but I got a ton of crap from the in-laws, parents, etc. They didn't know any better, but it's like removing the cheap off-brand of a video game from the shelves so grandparents won't accidentally buy it instead.

LSU recognized that its fans craved a return to the more traditional tiger head logo and put the wheels in motion to making it a reality.
Only 12 years to respond to fan disapproval.

Is that a record though for the LSU administration?

Halleluia...now if they would get rid of the awkward looking geaux font the transformation will be complete.
I was baffled from day one when "Toonces" appeared and then to add insult to injury the traditional block letters gave way to "Geaux" font. At least the kitty will be gone... doubt the font style will change anytime soon. As popular opinion goes, are the majority of fans that care about this sort of thing in favor of the Geaux Font?

The Geaux font is here to stay, since LSU owns it.
