So should the Saints not go to the playoffs because they lost to the lowly Rams? You can look at any one game and say they shouldn't have lost, and if there is a more deserving team so be it. But that is not the case here.

You can't at all even begin to compare the NFL to cfb. One has a playoff system and the other doesn't. If at the end of the season the NFC and AFC voted for it's best team to play in the super bowl then you are right the saints wouldn't be there. And the loss to the rams would hurt them. You aren't making a comparison to two things that are even close to the same.

Some of you are totally missing the point. Did I ever once say bama was deserving? Did I ever say any other team wasn't more deserving??
My one and only point is this.

That's it. They took it out of their own control when they lost, and it opened them up to criticism from espn, stupid arse voters, and a faulty bcs system to keep them out. And that's exactly what it did.
Personally I wish we were playing OSU. I don't like the rematch idea. But OSU (and a few other teams) opened it up for debate by losing.

Two things that will singe my arse is the shite like "Clearly the better team got into the MNC" -Which it did, but not on paper. And when we curb stomp the Gumpers we'll get the talk of..."Clearly Bama was the better team, and LSU just happen to get 3 turnovers, 2-3 goal line stands, ran for over 200 yards on the best defense EVER AND they DID PLAY THIS GAME IN HOSTILE TERRITORY!"
