uhhh he played qb all spring and all fall practice. Hes 4th on the depth chart at QB. You dont think shepard realizes that. You dont think he plays an active part in this decision?

My understanding is he went to Miles and told him that's what he wanted to do. It makes since because he can make people miss. If he transitions well and gets the ball in space, there should be big gains with him.

A better description would be 'slot back' or "Wild Tiger back'.

Those 2 terms are a bit cumbersome for the program, no? Every slot receiver in history has officially been listed as a WR.

That was the argument I was having, not that he would never catch a pass as an LSU player, but that the description of WR as his position is not truly indicative of what he does on the playing field.

I'm not sure what argument you're referring to here, but it's not the same one we had before the season started when you called those of us who thought Shep would eventually wind up somewhere other than QB stupid. Or how you tried to conclude that suggesting that his talents(and self-interest) might be better served at a position other than QB was somehow monumentally insulting. Seems to me like you are crawfishing to cover up your Rantardism.

This type of shite pisses me the frick off. "Given the opportunity?" He was never given a real opportunity to be a QB here...frick he never even attempted a pass. My hatred for Les runs deep these days, but I don't think anyone can argue the fact that he has no fricking idea how to utilize anyone. That dude making the decision that Shep can't play QB does not sit well with me. frick Les....he thinks Trindon can't play, Keiland can't run, Randle can't catch, etc.

Dude, JJ can't read a defense to save his life in his second year. Why does he get a free pass and Shep is given up on after one year? You say so he can play other positions? HE BARELY frickING PLAYED ANYTHING! That dude is a winner and a playmaker...and we are wasting him. Spare me with the Gonzo Percy shite...I'll believe it when I see it.

My GOD! Give it a break man. You need to get away from the RANT and get some fresh ideas. These are terrible.

Wait, people are bitching because Shepard is going to be on the field more?

This is what I don't get.

AND he'll be lining up occassionally as a QB in whatever we call our wildcat formation. So, Shep will be on the field for more plays, get the ball in space to use his speed and quickness, probably get some carries at running back, AND line up occassionally at QB. How is this A) bad and B) not giving Shep a shot at QB?

If he wants to make the NFL, which I'm sure he does, he has to know his future is at WR. Sorry if the staff wants to make a personnel move that will help the team win AND improve a player's chances of a huge NFL payday.

if RS has hopes of playing in the NFL one day, he better start working on his WR skills.

actually I agree with this...why does JJ get a free pass and Shep doesnt even get to attempt a pass...?...I just want him to get a shot at QB...thats all...I do wish that he would be used just like percy harvin occasional wild cat Qb, WR, and RB...but if he doesnt touch the ball at least 25 times a game, our coach is a moron...

Doesn't matter just GET HIM ON THE FREAKING FIELD and get hime the ball any way we can and let him be a football player. People keep talking about this guy or that guy being the next Pearcy Harvin blah blah blah, when the guy is already on the roster. We just didn't use him.

He got it, it's over. He's apparently moved on, why in the world can't you? I love how people get so offended on other people's behalf. People that they do not know. People who are not even offended themselves.

means when he screws up or the offense is Ranked 8 spots away from last in D-1 football he doesnt get benched. Got it!

No he didnt get it...the part about him going to Les is a LIE...unless you know one of his friends or family members that he talks to on a regular basis...He was frustrated all year because they would let him throw

Percy harvin averaged 28 touches a game through recieving, wilcat and RB position...
Im assuming your laughing at your stupidty?

I believe over the course that I have been on TigerRant I've seen you change your position on many things..."I trust les miles, I dont trust les Miles" "I like GC, I dont like GC"....your all over the place man, at least I stand by what I say and dont change like the weather in the south...I guess next year when JJ has the same "numbers year as he did this year, your gonna still say he "improved" if he throws for 40 more yards on the year...Face it...he's Marcus Randall for 3 years in a Row...

Dexter McCluster is probably the position that Shep will play.

LINK

His JR year he had 40 receptions and 70 carries. That's 110 touches from scrimmage(not counting any returns). In 14 games. In what parrallel math universe does that even remotely equal 28 touches?

We are going to have a disgruntled player.. he came to LSU to play QB?

rs loves lsu and br. he has no problem moving to slot back.
if you watch his high school highlights, no one actually believed he'd be a qb in college. he's electric but he's more of a percy harvin, not a vince young.

I totally agree. Or we can sit and watch him looking confused on the field every game.

Percy Harvin missed 2 full games with injury and only played sparingly against FSU and Miami.

So, really he had 110 touches in 10 full games and parts of 2 others. Also, Florida blew out quite a few people and he didn't see much time in the 2nd half in some instances in his junior year.

Just FYI.

11 touches/game is not even on the same planet as 20 touches/game. That's not "the stat police" that's you being completely and extremely wrong.
