DC as a livable city......

Gotta say, wish I was at the game today in DC. The cherry blossoms are peaking, spring is in the air, and can't believe the Tigers are there to play. What a great way to participate in the Sweet 16!
Visiting DC is a blast...visit historic old town Alexandria, walking to King Street for food and beverage, walking the mall with all the monumnets...kind of like visiting the US's Rome.
So, with great regrets because of work related activities, I can't be at the game, but wish all Tiger fans a pleasant stay in the capital.

I lived about 5 blocks from the White House for 3 years... would move back in an instant if it weren’t so expensive. Used to walk to the arena all the time

I love going to DC, but so glad my job is not in the city. Have to agree that it is a beautiful city from Spring to Fall. I'm not mad that I don't have to leave NOVA for anything either.

You don’t have to pay property taxes 2x a year, like you do in VA. DC is expensive.

It's incredibly expensive.
But there's no denying that the DC area, particularly from the Mall southward towards Alexandria, is gorgeous.

Lol. I've lived here for 12 years and never had anything close to a bad experience. As it goes anywhere, there are areas you don't venture to if you have a brain (and there's no good reason to go to them either). You're more likely to encounter bad shite in Baton Rouge.

No it's not. It's a beautiful, international city. The monuments, the history, the arts, the museums. It's fabulous. The surrounding areas are also great. It's just too cold to live there and expensive.
