Lafell pissed me off in the Arkansas game. First he decides a ball is thrown too high and doesn't jump for it but the d-back jumps and gets a hand on it. On the last play before the 99 yard FG attempt he made no attempt to come back for the throw and 2 defenders step in front to knock the ball down. These are just two examples. I'm sure this was going on all year.

Did Coach LM hurt Byrd's NFL stock by running a vanilla offense and/or not pulling J. Lee earlier?

Miles doesn't and didn't owe DByrd a goddamn thing. He started, he caught, he dropped and unlike last season, he decided not to block downfield on runs and when Lafell or anyone else caught a ball.

For whatever faults he may have, I'll never forget his TD catch in the last second of last year's Auburn game. I never get tired of watching replays of that, along with the Bluegrass Miracle.

Not only was his route running, downfield blocking and attitude suspect, but team pride and hustle in an effort to stop defenders after picks. Result = # of pick 6s.

D. Byrd hurt his own stock by dropping so many passes this year.

Wow... So now the pick 6's were Byrd's fault.
BTW, I never saw J. Lee in there mixing it up to make a tackle after he threw a pick.

D. Byrd? are you kidding me?? He was part of the damn prob this yr. He refused to block, tiptoed around piles, and freakin JOGGED routes!!
Today's world, always someone else's fault....

+1 Alas, his attempts quite often were lame.
He could still get his mind right and be a good pro though.

Yes two examples of our QBs throwing uncatchable and untouchable(by our WRs) balls.

Or better yet did D. Byrd hurt his own "stock" by dropping a lot of catchable balls across the middle of the field!!

Wasn't theree a sign outside the weight room last offseason from Moffitt calling out DByrd? Questioning whether he really wanted to be a professional football player? Seems like it was indicative of a lot.

Did miles make him drop all of those balls? I think D. Byrd lost his heart and quit on the team. He may make an NFL team with a free agent
contrat, he can play if he keeps his head in the game.

Not miles fault. Miles cant make him get open and catch the ball. Its funny lafell and tolliver did good this year with bad qb play just about all year

He will be Donte Stallworth part II for better and for worse. Only a team won't have to spend a 1st or 2nd round pick to get him.

D Byrd hurt himself more than anyone else on the team and showed time and again he was not a team player. However, he will get a shot to prove he can be a team player in the pros.

quote:

Good guy maybe, but on the field he dogged it. He and his ole man were too worried about pro scouts. By the way, Lafell was kicked off the practice field by Miles 2 weeks ago. Another dog.

Don't just throw that out and leave it hanging...explain please.

Byrd didn't want to risk injury or mess his hair up, glad he's gone.

I think D Byrd is good, but I don't expect him to have a great pro career, although I wish him well.

I agree
I wish he could stay a year, and try to get his stats back up
