I believe it is safe to say cpm will never win another game ever at college world series in the future it's time for a change, he has done all he can do for the program

It's funny how ignorant you are. One loss and suddenly you hate CPM. Sure, he should've taken Pochè out. But he didn't. That part is on him. But there's a reason they are where they are and it isn't just because they have amazing talent. Or that cocksuckers like you comment on everything when you sound like you've never played baseball in your life. So stick a sock in your fat mouth and get over it.

we shut out twice a UNC-W team who was batting over 300 on the year. Sure ULL wasn't a great team, but still any team who makes it to the supers is a good team.

Aside from the throw out at home, Foster had a great game! Both at the plate, the stolen base, and the two DPs he turned with Breg!

You sound like the dad who is excited that his kid got a participation award. It's not out of line for a fan base as strong as LSU's to demand the excellence out of the program.

You sound like the wife who is pissed that her husband is only making 5M/year now because he used to make 20M / year.

LSU had a stretch of success that is basically something that never happens. Most schools will never see a stretch like that. And, rather than recognizing the feat as special, people like yourself use it as what the standard for the program should be.

It's ridiculous and flat out ignorant to be frank. LSU's program is extremely strong. We'll win another championship in the semi-near future the way things are going. We'll never win 5 out of 10 again. There is not a coach or program that exists that could reproduce that success.

That is NORTH CAROLINA-WILMINGTON .. from a weak-arse conference that built that average against weak arse competition .. sure our pitching should shut them down .. ULL needed to win their conference tourney just to get into the field .. We play horribly weak non-conference competition, mostly at home under the guise/excuse that we play in a tough conference .. then we stockpile 11 of our conference wins against average to poor league teams that didn't even make the tourney field .. It is smoke and mirrors designed to fool season ticket holders into forking over money ..

This team needed a miracle to get past freaking ULL. No surprise TCU destroyed them. They'll lose the next game to give Maineri two straight 0-2 exits at Omaha.

My bad. Today was a great day. I'm just happy to be here. I hope we play like this in Omaha every year, because just being here is a privilege. Geaux Tigers!!!

Are you serious ? 11 of our SEC wins came against teams with losing records in the SEC ... then we needed solid pitching to fend off mighty UNC-Wilmington in the regionals and a walk off to save us in game 1 against ULL .. we have been playing with smoke and mirrors for weeks ..

LSU was 12-6 in SEC games against Regional quality SEC teams.

We struggled in the SEC tournament at best .

LSU lost a 2-1 game in the SEC tournament against Florida (tournament champ, top 8 seed) after winning the first two games. It was a game it led heading into the 8th inning and was tied in the 9th.

You are making the case for a slump. Unfortunately, it contradicts your premise that LSU just isn't very good and it was all smoke and mirrors.

Agreed. Maybe a loss like this is what the team needed.

2009 was great. We all know that. But it's been an absolute shite show in Omaha since then. Today was the shittiest of the shite shows. Stop sugar coating it.

But but but .. we should be happy JUST reaching Omaha ! Schedule yourself to 20 non conference wins .. beat up on the bottom of the SEC .. live off of your name and past accomplishments to get a brand name, top 8 national seed, get a weak arse regional at home and POOF !! you're back in Omaha !

It's a shame Skip has had to witness these past few seasons.

This was a ok argument, but still fails.

baseball comes down to how good the teams are in your state. Other than LSU, no-one is really good in the Louisiana. Not many good teams are going to travel to play you in a midweek game. LSUs non conference wasn't horrible this year, Kansas from the big 12, had a bad year, Boston college from the ACC a bad year, the Houston Classic was great.

But being in the SEC makes up for a weak OCC. The fact that we won the SEC regular season title is very impressive.

hen we stockpile 11 of our conference wins against average to poor league teams that didn't even make the tourney field

pretty sure Vandy and Florida did the same thing. Still winning the SEC, is very impressive.

the stuff above was decent, but this is just horrible.

Did you fall asleep before the walk off HR that avoided extra innings where ULL would have gotten into our bullpen and anything could have happened ?

I don't think anyone thinks 5 titles in 10 years is realistic. Right now, I think it would be realistic to expect that each class (with the draft losses, let's say that is 3 instead of 4 years) makes a deep run and wins games in Omaha. That would give us a pretty good shot at a title every 6 to 9 years. We aren't on that track right now. I don't see why anyone would have confidence that Manieri can keep that pace with what we have seen in the postseason the last 5 years.
