TJ Finley chucks a rock 75 yards
Maximus Johnson swings a 12-inch stick

Max is 10th ranked & TJ is 19th

TJ Finley Evaluation is impressive

QB room looks a lot better than it has in the past.

Johnson looks very good, TJ needs some work but he’s huge and has a cannon. Nuss in my opinion is the best we’ve signed in the last 20 years. His film is absurd. Not to mention we actually run a good system now.

I’m convinced that Brandon Harris and Jordan Jefferson etc. would have actually been good in a non shite system.

Finley looks quite a bit better than Max and that's not to say that Max looks bad because he doesn't. I just think Max has to develop and improve more than Finley in my opinion. I'm no QB guru but Max's balls hang in the air a little too long for my liking and Finley looks to be more on the money with his throws.

Either way, the future of QB's at LSU looks quite bright after Brennan.

to Coach O for bringing in quality QBs to LSU.

I watched their film and came away with the opposite impression . In my non coach opinion Max looked more polished and accurate with his throws at the moment. TJ has all the athletic tools, but needs time to develop. Especially his footwork.

Finley’s evaluation reminds me of Jamarcus Russell.

“Enormous QB prospect with elite height. Built similarly to a big tight end. Pro-style pocket passer with an arm that matches the size. Unafraid to take shots down the field. Drives the ball vertically with power. Whips the ball out with ease. Fires it with zip in the short to intermediate passing game. Shows impressive touch in the red zone on corner and timing routes. Will stand in and deliver under duress. Winds up a bit and can improve release quickness. Footwork needs to tighten and become more consistent. Shows promise throwing on the move, but not a big-play running threat mobility-wise. Big-framed, big-armed pro-style QB with raw tools and high ceiling.“

Well I'm simply a fan so take my opinion with a grain of salt. My assessment will probably prove to be wrong and laughable in the future!

Please post the video that you have watched. I’d love to see what you are evaluating.

I dont know if it is just me, but Im not that high on TJ Finley. Yes he is big and can sling a ball, but after watching lots of highlights I just dont see what others are seeing. Guess thats why Im not the coach. LOL. I do wish him nothing but the best of success though at LSU. And I hope he makes me eat my words.

He is still listed on the roster at lsusports.net for what that is worth.

If we had utilized a dual threat/QB run heavy system I might agree. But neither were accurate passers which limited our ability to be a pro-I/multi team. Numerous receivers open for both those guys and they could ot hit them. But both had good legs. Miles should have let them run 12-15 times/game
