Crowton is only running the plays that Miles tells him to. It's all staged and scripted by Miles. Crowton is a big Spread/Passing guy. That's NOT his offense you see out on the field. If he were totally in charge, LSU would have a different QB and a college level offense with a vertical passing game.........

GC was giving a lot of autonomy last year.....and our O had absolutely NO identity

Yes....our book is limited and it should be because our QB can't make throws.

Miles would not have thrown THREE passes up 6 in the 4th quarter......GC has to go

Do you guys just ignore the fact that we have been good on offense under Miles and Crowton except for the 19 games Jordan Jefferson was the starting QB?

Crowton is good his first year at a program with a qb he doesn't have to coach. It goes downhill after the first year and it did so at Oregon and BYU.

LA Tiger,

If I remember correctly, didn't some Oregon fans come on the Rant and make the same observation? Crowton has proven that he is a one and done OC in terms of successful years.

We had one year of good offense under Crowton and that was 2007 with a senior qb. Before that was Jimbo. This is Crowton's pattern.

I guess they could fire Crowton. Have Ensminger coach the QBs, Miles take over the TEs, and both Miles and Gonzales take over the OC duties.

If they start to strip Crowton of his duties they might as well fire him.

If JL and JJ both are no good, then why and who recruited them to begin with? That doesn't give me a lot of faith in future QB recruiting if our coaches can't spot/develop talent.

I think JJ is talented and so is JL, but they have not gotten any better. I mean JJ looked great against a good ACC team, and now he can't throw for 100 yards. Something is wrong.

I have never understood the Miles/Crowton marriage. I think he has to go mainly because his offensive philosohy and Miles' just doesn't seem to mesh. This hybrid offense we are running is not going to work.

We scored points in 2008 with a rs freshman QB!!!! Our offense was GOOD in 2008. Bad in 2009 and 2010. Gee I wonder who has been playing QB for the past 2 season? Jordan Jefferson

Regardless of WHO / WHAT, whether it is right or wrong,
fair or not.
it all flows to the HEAD PERSON.
The responsibility stops there...
it is not getting done.

Well I'm all for letting Lee start. That's another form of Process of Elimination. I hope the kid does great.

Alot of that had to do with Scott. He had the same amount of TDs as Lee and JJ combined.

The offense scored points in 2008 with true freshmen Jordan Jefferson starting also. I don't understand why it is forgotten the offense did fine with him too in 2008.

It wasn't a good offense. We set an NCAA record for interceptions. Maybe that's good for you. Crowton does the same at each school. He was head coach and handled the offensive coordinator duties while at BYU. His first year the offense scored over 600 points over the season. By 2003, a horrible losing record and less than 200 points for the season.

The play calling is terrible, but wvu fans all said their run d is good. Well ridley went for 125 yrds on them. We will be able to run the ball. The problem is when they are running it. Oh let's throw it on 3rd and short... Oh we are going to run it up the middle with blue on 2nd and 16. WTF is that all about. Our offense is so predictable, but yet we are managing to score. Talent can only take us so far though.
