Funny how confidence is important for some players and not others. PM practically babied Hellmers in the media after that first weekend.
It's almost like Mainieri eschews the one-size-fits-all method, and instead customizes his approach for the psychology of each player. What an idiot!

And that’s not even what I was trying to say. I don’t necessarily think PM was taking a shot at Arnold. I just think it’s obvious he’s not one of his favorites.

I think by the time CPM mentions a player, or throws them under the bus as some would say, in the media he already knows their psychology and they can handle it and he knows it will give them a push they may need.
The fanbase’s favorite example is when he called Deichman out for dropping a ball at 1st. What people fail to mention is that following those comments Deichmann became a better player and went on a tear for basically the remainder of his career. I’m not saying what CPM did is the reason because it probably wasn’t but CPM knew he could say those things and Deichmann would be able to handle it.
Arnold is a dude that has battled through a lot off the field to get where he is. I think CPM knows that he can handle a little pressure from him through the media.

What happened with Wet Dellate?
I remember trying him at 3rd but not working.

PM dogged him after a loss to Tulane in 2010. Not saying he was good but it was kinda shitty. Wet transferred.

Again, I’m not really saying PM is being mean to Arnold by simply saying Cranford may get a look. It just feels like Arnold has had a short rope all season especially when Bianco was getting SS reps over him.

I think Arnold will improve in time. The only questions is will CPM allow him to do so.
It sounds like you KNOW Arnold will improve in time. Either that, or there is at least one more question. Let me ask you, since you implied CPM will yank Arnold before he has time to improve, how much longer would YOU go with Arnold yipping at second?

Arnold is fine. You’re being a little bitch about it. He needs to focus less on his arm and the throw and more on his footwork. Early on it was timing and that’s partly due to his feet. He’s used to getting his feet moving faster and releasing as soon as he fields it as SS.
Well, there it is, the ad hominem attack from ell.

Maybe Arnold will figure it out. We're 17 games in and he has looked like shite throwing the ball in EVERY situation. His relay from RF to home was horrific, at SS he was inaccurate, and now at second he is challenging the first baseman about every third throw. I'm beginning to think he won't settle in, and this is just who he is.

You from preseason:

This lineup will be overmatched at the plate most of the season. We have a young lineup in a year when teams are unusually veteran, like our pitching staff is. I don’t expect the hitting to come around until the end of the season if at all.
No doubt, that was way off (so far). I think you predicted we would struggle on the mound and lead the nation in HRs?

You don’t need to call them out publicly to figure that out either. If that’s a resource you use, you’re just a shite coach.
Nick Saban is a shite coach, then. He should read How to avoid being a shite coach by ell.

Nick is a dick directly to his players on the field. Same as skip was. Saban rarely went after specific kids in the media. That’s a misconception.

Must be an SEC weekend!

He literally said after Waddle got injured that he got injured on a play that he shouldn’t have taken the ball out of the end zone. LSU fans would definitely call that throwing a player under the bus if CPM said it lol.

Baloney! I distinctly remember him doing so at LSU. In fact, when we lost to Florida in 2003 he "went after" Lionel Turner who blew the coverage on the TD that made it 19-7. He threw Josh Booty under the bus. He said Booty diagramed and ran a play that wasn't even in their playbook.
The truth is that you shot your mouth off, ell. You said good coaches don't do this, and when it was pointed out that the greatest coach of all time does it, you just decided to deny it because otherwise you'd have to admit you're wrong.
Ell, you are wrong. Everybody reading this thread knows it, including you.

maybe we should just get rid of these busses?

Posted on 3/19/21 at 7:34 am to geauxtigers33
PM basically went after Wet and Zardon saying they suck on defense and caused losses. That’s a little different than saying Waddle got hurt on a mistake. You have to see the difference there right?

Just like Saban did with Lionel Turner and Josh Booty.
