PM doesn't like Arnold defensively, plays Cranford. Cranford can't hit, Bianco gets back in the lineup. Arnold transfers.

Before people get bent out of shape, I don't believe that will really happen and, moreso, I absolutely don't want that to happen. Leave Arnold alone. Let him bat 9th and hit .275 with 15 HRs.

I think Arnold needs to stick at 2B, we can't really afford Cranford to come in and become a black hole offensively.

Now we get late into ball games yes you insert him as often as need be.

another novice question RE: Beloso

is it possible he will do better with pitchers who actually throw strikes? Or is he just going to struggle more?

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but it does seem like Morgan sometimes puts himself in awkward situations. I'm not discrediting his fielding at all because he has made some very difficult plays look routine. But there appear to be some throws that look to be on line, but he still maneuvers himself to make the catch in foul territory by crossing over the bag when he doesn't need to.

Are my eyes playing tricks on me?

I agree with you. Morgan plays extremely loose (which is good and bad), on many receiving chances he'll go where he wants (a confidence thing) which can put him at different angles that what we're normal to seeing.

I think he'll be fine.

He never really seems to step towards the throw and always ends up on top of the bag or down the lines. I know the throws haven't been great but it hurt him in at least 2 instances where he seemed to guess wrong on a ball being up the line and got handcuffed.

granted i have a personal reason to want him to do well. Just wondering what it will take for that to happen.

I agree but he's not going to hit better than Arnold.

Agreed on Morgan, film will hopefully fix this.

Back to Arnold he also seems to second guess if he should crow hop or side arm it.

I'm not worried about Arnold either...his bat is why he's playing.

Absolutely. 2B isn't a defensive priority position like catcher.
Agreed. Hell, Mason Katz was stuck there, and Arnold is tenfold a better second basemen than Katz

Makes me wonder what he's doing to Arnold's confidence with these quotes...
