Fontenot should definitely.
Agreed

Cabrera could have been a leader this year but didnt stand up when needed too to motivate anyone.
I think the younger players didn’t want to step on toes & older ones didn’t have that type of personality

What makes you think Beck is going to be a vocal leader to a whole team...
What makes you think he wouldn’t?
quote:
I dont give a shite if you are a senior or a freshman when your team is down somebody needs to stand up and light a fire under their team mates... If you think this team had that then i dont know what to tell you.... Fontenots pitching the other night was the most gutsy performance in a while but you didnt see any players trying to step up and get things going at the plate, no motivational talks or anything... The whole year this team just looked like they were on the field because they had to be not because they wanted to be outside of a few games.. Hardly no emotion expressed except for maybe a few games, you should have passion and emotion every damn game...
Ok

Does CPM mean he wants better than, say, .172 BA from a batter?
It would be more acceptable if one of the gifted ranters had said it.
How dare a HC try a new tactic to motivate his players. He should wait until the fans start giving them the Hughes treatment, then its acceptable.

You realize one over achieves and the other doesn't

He finished the season at the same spot Paul Mainieri did......
He lost to an inferior team at home to end the season in which they started #1 in the country too???

I’m not discounting what Will Wade did. I fricking love Will Wade but there is no difference in losing in the sweet sixteen and losing in the super regionals.
Did baseball underachieve this year? Yes they did. It sucked but you know what? Underachieving still got us to the last 16 playing.
Have just a little bit of perspective.

The team was as injured as any team in the nation and competed pretty well, considering. With a healthy Henry, we beat FSU and are in CWS.

We should have beaten FSU even after losing Henry. That isn’t a valid excuse for that series.
