Paul Mainieri: “I’m not sure I’ve ever had a situation where we lost three players to leg injuries within 11 innings of baseball. What a nightmare.” #LSU
quote:
Paul Mainieri said Zack Hess is dealing with a groin injury, but not the same one he dealt with at the start of the season. Hess told him today he’s feeling better, but Paul says there’s no timeline on his return right now #LSU
quote:
Chris Reid is dealing with a tight hamstring and isn’t likely to play against UL-Lafayette.
Zach Watson (groin) is in even worse than Reid, per Paul Mainieri. Hasn’t been ruled out for the weekend, but doesn’t look good
quote:
More bad news: Landon Marceaux is out again. Felt a reoccurrence of his arm soreness #LSU
quote:
#LSU’s rash of pitching injuries is complicated by the fact it’s a short week.
Paul Mainieri all but ruled out moving Cole Henry or Eric Walker to Thursday. No idea who’ll start opener against Florida if Zack Hess can’t go.
Jaden Hill is still at least a couple weeks away.
quote:
Drew Bianco could see additional time with Chris Reid out and Hal Hughes also banged up.
Zach Watson, who is also hurt, would normally be #LSU’s emergency infielder.
Will Ripoll played infield in HS, but he’ll be needed on the mound tomorrow.
Jacques Doucet
quote:
"If Hal Hughes is unavailable, we're down to 11 position players." #LSU Paul Mainieri.

do they not know how to properly condition their players? WTH is going on????
Posted on 4/15/19 at 2:07 pm to EdmondDontez
They don't normally play baseball on a slip and slide.

It is not the fault of the coaches that we got non-pitching players injured.
CPM and his staff have many problems now with this team and some are their fault. But some are the individual players' fault and some are just coincidence.

Watched them and every game thus far. This isn't new. It seems like half the squad is riding the bench due to some kind of injury.

James Moran gets paid to write. Surely someone who gets paid to write would know better than this.

So you watched the games and you think these leg injuries are conditioning related?
So did you really watch the games and you're a fricking moron or were you lying about watching the games and talking out of your arse?

It's okay Paul. I know you're trying your best to save-face but you've got to get a grip.

And your conclusion is all these injuries are on the coaches? The coaches have plenty of thing that you can blame on them you don’t have to reach for things like injuries. Thy happen to every team in every sport. Sometimes you can’t control them.
These sorts of injuries happen all the time in Major League Baseball you just don’t notice when a player misses a week or two in the middle of a 162 game schedule. It is very noticeable when you miss a week in a 30 game sec schedule. Do you think major league ball clubs and trainers don’t prepare those players?

Hess cleat got stuck in the turf mound which caused his injury. That is no ones “fault” at LSU.

Wait, you think I'm taking up for the coaches because you're too dumb to realize that no amount of conditioning would prevent leg injuries that occur from slipping on wet turf or landing on a base wrong?

Some of those guys came injured & rehab is taking longer than anticipated

Yea I do think proper coaching and conditioning could prevent someone from landing on a base wrong or slipping on wet turf. Accidents do happen but if you're conditioned well enough it's less likely that you'll be injured.

What kind of coaching would have prevented Watson being injured on a hustle play?

I’ve never seen one team have so many players hurt. No this is way past the point of “it’s baseball” you would think we are playing football out there.
