He throws the most hittable pitches in baseball. He is a pitching machine that throws flat fastballs over the plate and breaking balls in the dirt

This inning is painful, 2 outs with very minimal pitches, all cookies and base hits since.

At least it’s not a bunch of walks.

I haven’t seen a live pitch in over 10 years, and even then it was low to mid 80mph at best.

So in summation, yes, I could.

How is this different than any of our pitchers not named Skenes?

I’m 60 and used to hit bombs. Yes. I could take him over the fence. (Notice I didn’t say “Take him deep.” Times have changed.)

Only good news. They at least have to earn it a little.

Runs are runs. Doesn’t matter how they score.

He seems to have no movement. Just time him up.

None of our guys do. It seems to me that we exclusively throw four seam fastballs as opposed to two seem fastballs with movement.

There is a resin he is not the answer either, even though he throws more strikes. Still, he’s a guy that I am feeling more comfortable with as a better option lately just because you have no chance giving free pass after free pass.

The Rant said that if our pitchers would just throw the ball over the plate and not walk batters that the ball would land in our fielders gloves.

Have you not read that repeatedly?

With 2 outs he throws a routine ground ball to short but we had the SS and 3B close enough to each other to hold hands. There wasn’t a single hard hit ball off of him.

I’m not referring to a single play. The Rant said in general that if our pitchers just threw strikes and didn’t walk batters that the ball would land in our fielders gloves.
Have you not seen that posted repeatedly? As much as you are on this board I find that hard to believe that you haven’t read that.

Hitters just seem to barrel him up easier than the other pitchers. Maybe because the others don’t throw strikes. But the question still stands. Could you get a base hit?

Pitching to contact would definitely benefit us. This nibbling in low leverage counts and situations and asking pitchers to paint corners with every pitch in any count like they’re MLB vets is the problem. You’ve seen other teams with rag arms pitch to contact and stay in games all season long.
