TM is a great playmaker. He's always around the ball. He's a great player. He is NOT the best player in LSU history, and it's not even close.

This. Best "Football Player" is too broad a term for something that's been around for more than a century like LSU Football. I'm old enough to be most of y'all's dad, but I don't remember Cannon, or really even Bert Jones. I remember Dalton Hilliard, Tommy Hodson, Charles Alexander, Kevin Faulk, Cassanova, etc...and they were all great too. They all play various positions, and were on teams with various levels of talent around them. So too broad a term to pick just yet.

As someone said, best playMAKER? That I've seen, yes. No doubt.

Too many young people on here for this thread.

Yes, but you basically wrote TM7 future by saying he has no chance to be in the conversation when it's all said and done.

That's a little presumptuous IMO.

I consider Casanova above Billy Cannon but it is a subjective issue.

In fact, they are the only two tigers to have their jerseys retired at LSU.

TM7 at least has a shot to reach that level at the rate he's going IMO.

To be fair, he asked "Could he be"...not IS he now. I think it's fair to put in very much in the conversation, assuming he continues his current pace.

Not even the best player at his position on this team so no.

I hope you're joking. I swear our fan base has to be in the top 5 of fan bases that shite on their own players. Good god. Yeah the NATIONAL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR isn't the best player at his position.

He wasn't the best corner Claiborne was/thread

I disagree. It's gonna be very hard for TM to have another season like he did last year. Watch and see.

Well, he's not staying another 2 years, most likely, and Casanova/Cannon only played three years at LSU.

So, whatever.

We'll just have to watch and see.

Is the fake dope thing going to be held over his head forever? If I am not mistaken, Cam Newton won the Heisman after being kicked off the Florida team after an arrest for possession of a stolen laptop...

I still can't call someone "best football player in LSU history" when over past two seasons I couldn't even say he was best LSU player on field....

Dude, Tommy Casanova makes TM look like shite. And I'm not hating on TM, he is a great playmaker.

There isn't a player in LSU history that makes TM7 look like shite. TC was a better cover corner but wasn't the all around playmaker TM7 is. After two years TM7 has the LSU record for FF. I think you are forgetting how young TM7 is. He is going to be a junior. Most players don't make a big contribution. Till their redshirt sophomore year or their true junior year. I think TC was great but he wasn't so good he makes TM7 look like shite. TC never won defensive player of the year.

You mean like everyone said after his freshman year? TM has a nose for the ball. He will own the sec record for ff.

No one on the defense , made more plays over the last two years. He might not HAE been the best corner but he was the most consistent playmaker on the defense for the last two years

Is this a serious question? The best football player to ever wear the Purple and Gold of LSU? Not sure he was the best player on last year's team..
