I'm gonna get killed for this but then again 11 days ago I got killed for a post (signs aka facts point to a collapse) which was 100% correct. If a star player had the you know what to post a pic of a potential violation (yall know the pic) and we are switching a stud player to yet another position that doesn't make sense, it shows our head coach doesn't have control of the program and sooner rather than later, players will quit. They quit, truth be told, last week.
Anyway, we have very few options for a coaching hire. Elite coaches simply will not come to Baton Rouge. Herman would rather live in Austin and lose than live in Baton Rouge and win. Same with Chip Kelly and Bristol CT. We are an elite program with expectations to win now, so taking a chance on a young coach--like the Troy coach--ain't happening. And most good coaches now see LSU as a lateral move for which you could only entice them away by massively overpaying them. The best option to take over after O is Hugh Freeze.
He will be cheap. He would be willing to live in Baton Rouge. And after his disgraceful exit from Ole Miss he will be under such an intensive microscope he wouldn't dare to do anything wrong. If we are talking pure Xs and Os, he is top caliber. The only other coach out there is Lane Kiffin.

Accidental up vote. No more Ole Miss retreads, please.

Again look at the merits. What elite coach will realistically move to BR? How deep are our pockets to pay, say a Jimbo or a Fedora, to make at best a lateral move? Either we stick with O for both of those reasons for another year or two, or realize we have few options in hiring a new coach. This ain't Austin or So Cal or South Bend

Of all the dumb shite that I've read on this board the last 8 years this has got to be the WORST!
Just awful!!!

If we fire O, who can we afford having to pay 2 buyouts? What elite coach can you say would be willing to live in BR? I'm sure you expect to win now, are you willing to hire a young coach and give him 3 to 5 years, a la Dabo when he was hired? We have 2 options: ride out with O for at least another year or find an experienced great coach on the cheap who is willing to live and work in BR. Suggestions?
