points allowed and not by yards allowed?
Although I don't believe that this will predict the outcome let's at least look at the top 10 in the CFP ranking and the stat that really counts - THE SCORE.
Sorry that I can't organize the numbers better.
TeamM, Average Scored, Average Allowed, Average Difference
Team Scored Allowed Diff
Oregon 37.8 32.7 5.1
Minnesota 35.7 20.9 14.8
Oklahoma 47 25.6 21.4
Georgia 32.4 10.5 21.9
Penn State 36.8 13.5 23.3
Utah 34.7 11.3 23.4
LSU 47.8 23.8 24
Alabama 46.8 17.5 29.3
Clemson 45.9 10.7 35.2
Ohio State 51.5 9.8 41.7

Sucks that Ole Miss blew LSU out last night and the Tigers left Oxford with an L

What do those numbers mean

Baw you can’t bring stats here that make LSU look good!

Being perfect in every aspect of the game.
Every player/coach having a perfect game every week.
Scoring 60+ while only allowing 0 points every week.
Allowing less than 10 yards/game.
Those things determine the winner.

Pts/game - Pts allowed/game - Differential
It's not that hard.

They are 8th in Points allowed among those teams...
Still 10-0 is better than allowing 15ppg but having 1 loss. That's what matters the most.
Clemson escaping against NC is the difference between being in the CFP and being an afterthought.

So Clemson and OSU will be problems. Thanks for confirming.

So your sample shows that only 2 of those teams allow more points than LSU (Oregon and Oklahoma). In other words, victory is dependent on LSU scoring a lot of points.
Take away our G5 and FCS opponents and we are allowing 30.7 points a game.

3 undefeated teams and we are 4th with the best offense we’ve ever had and the team we beat is still ahead of us...this just proves how shitty our defense is

No. It is by scoring more points, which we did to the tune of 21 (which was the spread).
The negas have found fuel in what they always do when we're successful - optics. And, to be absolutely objective, the optics of the last 2 defensive second half performances are terrible. Negas will focus, laser-like on that, and completely ignore what the offense gets done and the defensive first half performances.
I think this will fade quickly, though. The team will be able to get well and look good against Arkansas. We generally handle business against Arky (obviously there are exceptions), and this is the worst Arkansas team to ever play in the SEC.
