Harris and Jennings are both "pocket passers" who are mobile.

Our QB play was the best we've had in a while (arguably better than JR)

Mett was not better than Jamarcus Russell, no matter how you try to spin it.

then what does it have to do with? both are better passers than Lee and Jefferson

You are basing this on what? Their HS tape? The very limited game experience for AJ/the scrimmages from Harris? That means nothing. JJ and Lee both looked just as good coming out of high school.

Cameron runs a pro style offense. Pro style offense features a pocket passer.

Jennings and Harris both pass in the pocket

basing it on they are still on the team, and the other "pocket passers" you refer to are not.

That would be really cool if Cameron knew Randle El. Do you think Cameron could call Randle El and find out how he did such amazing things?

was he a "pocket passer" though?

And neither had a decent QB coach in college and both were thrown into undesirable to terrible situations to start their careers unexpectedly early.

You're not good at this.

There isn't a specific "Cameron" offense. And having an athletic QB doesn't automatically make the offense not "pro-style".

don't give me that crap. Harris is a dual-threat QB. there is no spinning it. He is not a pocket passer with running ability. He is a runner with passing ability.

Also - Ever heard of Antwan Randle-El? You know, one of, if not THE most prolific offensive players in Big 10 history?

Sure I have. Cameron has spent the last nearly fifteen years since then in the NFL molding QBs into high level pocket passers running a pro style offense.

That "crap" is accurate, dipshit.

You're literally too stupid to even have a discussion with.

Carry on.

he's got a cannon for an arm but can run when the play breaks down. something mett could not do.

so what was jameis winston? a pocket passer?

what about johnny manziel? he was 70% accurate in the pocket in 2013. wouldn't he be considered a pocket passer?

JR only settled for throwing to WRs and not TEs?

Except that it is absolutely true.

If only our QBs had been invited to spend time with a QB guru.

Or if they had gone to one of those Elite Eleven things where you only get invited if you win a regional Elite Eleven competition that tests a QB's ability to throw passes. That would be nice.

That would be really nice. QBs who have been tested and who have proven that they can throw passes.

I guess one can only dream.

It's still funny to me that you think we have to have a statue-esque QB in order for Cameron's offense to work.

in his mind, jamarcus is a "dual threat" "running qb"

Sorry you think that. I'm sure some poor sap said the same thing about JJ or JL when they came in. Temper your expectations. We had a good passing offense last season with a true NFL style QB at the helm and two NFL caliber receivers catching for him. They are both gone. To expect anything CLOSE to that is ridiculous.

This guy gets it...and isnt the typical 20yr old immature TD poster.

Pardon me if his one grain of coherence was mixed up in a pile of shite. I'm not a pig in slop.

He is right that everyone should temper their expectations when it comes to LSU's passing game this year. LSU had an experinced QB and experienced WRs. To expect anything CLOSE to last season is ridiculous.

However, there is no reason that Harris and/or Jennings cannot be just as "successful" as Mett. In fact, our two current QBs can lead an even more potent offense before they graduate. I don't expect it this year, but it won't be because of their "style" of play.

I loved mett, but i'm glad LSU has a QB that can extend the play with their feet, and move the chains by running if forced out of the pocket.

JJ NEVER developed pocket confidence. His firm instincts were to tuck and run. If we go with Harris, his delivery of the ball is much more crisp, and that helps, and we'll have to see how his pocket confidence develops, but I think we are looking at what we all hoped RP11 would be, so I'm confident.
