Pretty typical to have 3 players a game going down and needing to be walked off.

Especially when you play as hard as LSU does. It happens.

My take on WVU after this game is at least WVU now has a classless coach to match their fanbase.

The booing of injured players was unbelievable and the coach throwing fits over the injuries only served to incite more booing.

Maybe Stewart was on to something...

Seems our players cramp a lot. At home it seems like we cramp more than visiting teams.

Thanks irishref. Great game. WV o-line did an excellent job of protecting Smith. I've never seen a QB with that much time, especially against a defense like LSU's. Mathieu is an incredible athlete, probably the top player in college football right now. His coaches, parents or teammates should encourage him to let his conduct on the field match his level of play on the field.

Hope WV wins out.

thanks for the kind words .. i agree with 97% of your analysis of the game .. with the exception of the fake injuries .. two of them were confirmed actual injuries after the game that could cost those players the kentucky game .. but we can just go round and round about that ... i am very happy to be able to into an incredibly tough environment as yours and come away with a win on national television .. but i come away with some concerns about our secondary and four-man pass rush ... your O line did an incredible job of protecting geno .. and geno made quick, crisp decisions .. if you want to really talk about moments that could have changed the complexion of the game .. it is his inconsistent throwing of the football .. on some plays he looked like warren moon .. on others he looked like reggie slack ... he misfired on some key downs and missed open receivers .. he could have kept three drives alive by hitting passes ...

our INTs were gifts .. TM7 literally creates his breaks and not only LSU fans, but all of college football needs to enjoy this guy .. he will be what bob sanders should have been in the NFL had bob sanders lived up to the ridiculous hype he was given ...

we won't really face an offense like yours the rest of the season .. which is good thing .. but i think you guys have a nice season ahead of you ... your head coach came off as a classless dick head at times last night .. i like what he did with your offense .. but give me a break with his f-bomb tantrums .. he is gonna flagged for 15 yards down the road if he keeps it up ... you have to wonder how much he is focused on the game itself after one of those tirades .. it looks like it takes him a good 15 minutes to settle down after his sailor in a tavern on shore leave imitations ... i know you guys had a helluva a soap opera between he and bill stewart .. and that will play out the rest of the way .. his acting like a complete douche bag on the sidelines isn't going to exactly instill respect in the former stewart assistants that make up his staff at a time when he needs to build it ...

good luck to you guys the rest of the way .. and here's hoping this guy grows up ..

My overall take on the whole WVA experience.
This state is beautiful..
Their fanbase loves the "neers" and WVA
The "hillbilly" or "hickabilly" moniker applies to a very small potion of the populace. We have more "rednecks".
Morgantown, and WVA has a high level of sophisication and accomplishments.
Their tailgate crowd is as cordial and welcoming as LSU's.
They would love to be SEC.
The Marcella Shale will make them wealthy.

5. Either LSU was employing the pretend to be hurt method of stopping a fast offense (like people do against Oregon and the Giants did so obviously) or the LSU defense wasn't in shape to keep up. Cramping in 60 degree weather? Thought SEC was so tough. The field was littered with LSU defenders.

Intelligent fans wouldn't boo guys hurt on freakin special teams and offensive plays. The WVU fans booed every injury, and showed a lack of both class and football acumen. Even in a place as hostile as Tiger Stadium, we NEVER, EVER boo injured players. We cheer when they get up. When I was in the Tiger Band, if we started playing and the drum major realized there was an injured player from either team, we would immediately stop and wait until he was attended to and off the field. That's how it's done. If WVU comes to the SEC, don't bring that crap with you.

As for the conditioning questions, the LSU front 4 rotates 8 continuously, and 12 will usually see the field. When you are on the field a lot more than you typically are, you can cramp in any weather. Cramping is about activity level vs hydration, not outside temp. The temp is just a factor causing players to lose hydration faster. You can cramp in any weather. Again, WVU fans need a little less yelling and cursing from their coach, and a little more football 101.

Have a great rest of the season, but I hope your coach and fanbase pick up some class along the way.

the only one that was questionable was the last one .. the others ? come on .. they were obvious injuries and not "cramping up" .. i guess craig loston was faking getting his bell rung ..

I never had a problem with WV until last night. What happened to cheering for a hurt player walking off the field - regardless of the team? So, no it's acceptable to boo a player just because you think he is slowing down your teams tempo?

Seriously, if your team is SO good, you should be able over come players faking injuries to slow down your tempo. Oregon had faced teams where half the players hit the turf. WV is good, but not that good. If you feel the need to boo someone, boo your classless coach. As a coach, you have players who go down with injuries. So, you just assume - like a complete arse - that every time a player on the other team goes down he is faking?

Save for that aspect of your team, I really wish you guys the best.

WVU might do better if they didn't run that gimmicky offense that can't function with an injured player on the field.

Everytime teams turn the ball over, it's gifts according to y'all, it has nothing to do with the opposition causing the TO's.

that's really laughable, I guess the WV player was giving the ball to Tyrann Mathieu when he stripped it from him.

We apparently used the fake-injury 'strategy' on offense too . . . your classy fans recognized that "ruse" too and boo'd. Brilliant stuff!

Pretty much deflates his argument and substantiates the doucheness of many of their fans...not to mention Coach Phil Collins.

The special teams and two of the turnovers were real gifts not to mention the short versus long field position.

We dropped 4 interceptions as well as a touchdown that would have been the dagger.

4 games into the season against some of the best teams in the land. 3 of which practiced the up pace tempo, and 1 does it the best. I'd say we are in shape..just a little tired.

Ya'll played well. You have a great QB and a dang good O-line.

Seriously, I didn't think that anyone could put up yards on our defense like your team did. I suspect that Alabama and Florida staffs will have film from this game positively dog-eared by the time they play the Tigers.

As opposed to several posts I've seen on our boards, I think WVU would be a fine addition to the SEC. In spite of your unfortunate yankee roots.

Good luck with the rest of your season. I do not envy the teams remaining on your sechedule.

2 Your coach is a whinny crybaby pussy.

3 You have a very good O-line.

4 They hold on almost every play.

5 It wasn't fog rolling in in the 4th Qtr, but the masses burning their couches.
6 We won, LSU won, WE WON, are ya feeling me yet?
