That return was absolutely amazing. Tiger stadium was electric. Him and Gabe Norther were the best players on that team.

Did you play football in high school?
I played Safety as a FR, SOPH and JR, then transferred to a Big Band School in Florida as a SR to just focus on Band with LSU and Tiger Band coming up......

Eddie is a super nice guy.
He really is. I met him twice while at LSU. Once was in 93 and again in 95.
In 93, I actually got trucked by him in a pickup football game. I caught a pass in the flat and he came at me with a running start and blew my arse up. i was probably bigger than he was even then (probably about 195), but he had track leg muscles and a running start. I rolled over two or three times in the ground and everyone was cracking up and yelling. He came over and helped me up while laughing and said, “I had to do it,” but he gave me a nod for hanging onto the ball. That made it worth it.
The craziest thing about this was that it was an open date Sunday during football season and it was tackle with no pads. I was in the drumline and we went out to the band practice field to play some football most Sundays. That week Kennison and a bunch of track guys were already out there just messing around. We thought it was cool getting to play a little ball with a Tiger, and a great one at that, but it’s much crazier to think about now. There’s NO WAY IN HELL a P5 football player would be allowed to play a pickup tackle game with no pads with a bunch of randoms on a shitty field in the middle of a season. Different times, I guess.
The second time was after the Arkansas game in 95, which was huge since it sealed the first bowl birth in 6 years. That night he judged a toga contest at a party I went to. I think he lived in the same complex and just showed up. He was cool to everyone there. My now wife won second place in that one about two months before we started dating. We were already friends at the time and I remember her bragging that Eddie voted for her, even though she didn’t win. He was smart, because she looked sexy as hell that night.

Saving for a future thread when the Gen X and boomer brigade talk about how awesome they were as fans back then

How about the kicker getting demolished with a block in the last second of the clip. Today it would probably be unnecessary roughness and the whole thing would have been called back.

Them were the Hallman days. There was very rarely anything worth seeing

Awesome. He was always one of my favorites.

Good for you, Eddie.
I played flag football against when he was on his “prop 48” year at LSU. The fastest human I have ever seen with my own eyeballs.

Some of my earliest Tiger Stadium memories involve Eddie chants! Congrats!

I had so much fun watching Kennison in action! Dammm im getting old!

Granted, 1995 was the only fairly decent LSU team, so it was definitely my favorite Kennison season! I was a sophomore at LSU and paying only $7 for a student ticket.
