Excellent addition. He coached two years in the NFL, is known as an intellectual play caller, and coaches from the sidelines, a trademark of Sean Payton

With Mettenberger coming in, and all the stud duck WR"S you guys have got...I see you winning the West and possibly the whole thing..That's all you guys needed was a PRO STYLE passing offense...You got the backs to run the ball ( always have it seems) and now all those potentially great WR's won't be going to waste..Everyone in the SEC should get ready..I have a feeling you guys are gonna be HARD TO DEAL WITH!

might be a stupid question. but, will he be the OC & QB Coach?

Why would that be a stupid question? He should be the QB coach, having directly coached Bledsoe and Hasselback. Miles' first statement on the hire gave a nod to Kragthorpe's QB savvy, didn't it? Play caller/QB mentor is a sensible dual role that ideally establishes a wavelength. Evidence suggested a disconnect between Jefferson and Crowton -- though they finally looked to be on the same page after 40 days in the wilderness preparing for the the Cotton Bowl!

how could JJ get any worse, the talent is gonna make this guy look good just like the defensive talent has helped chavis. I love the hire.

Just curious...
Does anybody think this was the best, or even one of the best available?
This argument that ,"He HAS to be better than Crowton..." is less than confidence building.

Whats your rationale?

Kragthorpe took a bad TU program with no fan base and laid the foundation for Todd Graham. LSU has a great program with the best fans in the country. It will be exciting to see what we do next year.

As long as Kragthorpe remove's those read options for our playbook, I'll be happy.

How about if he teaches the quarterback how to run them effectively?

Sometimes you need the "right" person for a job and not necessarily the "best" person available.

I trust Les.

Babe has it exactly right. If you demand the best offensive coordinator known to mankind, you can't afford him and he won't be available.
