I know it's baseball season and congrats to our boys in Omaha right now! But just curious as to how confident we as a fan base are in each of our respective sports. Men's only, not out of discrimination, just because I don't follow our women's teams closely enough to give a non bs opinion. Also when I say confident, I mean confident that we can compete nationally at a championship caliber.

Football- moderately to fairly confident
Baseball- very confident
Basketball- fairly confident and more confident by the season

Football 6.5
Baseball 9
Basketball 7 (would be a 10 if I didn't think we will be gutted after next year)

That's about how I feel. Im sure the football sunshine pimples will be out to get me but until we field a team like the 2011 and 2012 teams its hard to be confident.

We will continue to he a top program in baseball, even if we don't win it all this year.

Basketball, I like the recruiting, just not the coaching, confident we will make the tourney next year.

Football, just depends, I think Les has at least one more sec title in him which should mean a playoff appearance. After that, no telling. Depends on who we bring in to replace Miles when he retires.

10-13 were all good teams in college football. 05/ 06 were good teams.

08 was bad, 09 was meh. 14 was young and watching the games again we did well considering what we didnt have.

What? 8 of Miles' 10 seasons lsu has finished in the top 15 and 6 of those years in the top 10 and 4 years lsu finished in the top 5.Miles' 10 seasons have been LSU'S most successful 10 year stretch ever and you aren't confident?

So you bash someone else's opinion then give one that shows your ignorance. If you were a fan for another 50 years there will never be another team with as much talent as the 2011 team. But way to base your opinion on a ignorant statement. Very mature!!!!

I said like 2011-2012, I think most reasonable people would agree that our 2013 and 2014 campaigns were not as fruitful as those two seasons, and two consecutive years of average to good football rather than championship football would cause anyone to lose some degree of confidence in said program. Sorry if I offended you...

So stating FACTS about Miles' tenure is sunshine pumping? It's called reality dumbass. It's not my opinion that lsu has finished in the top 15 8 times during Miles' 10 years and in the top 10 6 times. IT'S A frickING FACT. God I hate our ignorant and entitled fan base.so full of dumbass people

Again, that's an opinion. FACTS say LSU was 17th out of 126 teams. I'll take facts over based opinion any daym

most semi-intelligent fans understand there is ebb and flow to any sports program and don't lose confidence after a couple of years of "average to good" results

Exactly. We have finished in the top 15 4 out of the last 5 years. We have one 8-5 season while none of our starting skill position players have more than 1 career start and all the sudden Miles' has lost it.
I swear I've never seen a fan base more willing to shite on their programs own accomplishments because of not seeing eye to eye with the head coach.

Don't be mad because fans haven't forgot about last season. We aren't gonna dismiss Miles's accomplishments but we aren't gonna act like last season didn't happen. With LSU's recruiting abilities we shouldn't have key players struggling like that. And to make it worse nothing has changed. Only difference is this time last summer I was optimistic about the qb situation. Now I hate thinking about it.

all our football team needs is a qb. just imagine how we would look with a matt Flynn or tommy hodson at the helm this year.
