I believe these are the three clear best teams in recent history. We will say like 1995-present.
2020 Alabama
Record: 13-0
Key wins: #13 Texas A@M, #3 Georgia, #22 Auburn, #11 Florida, #4 ND, #3 OSU
Margin of Victory: 30 points
2019 LSU
Record: 15-0
Key Wins: #9 Texas, #7 Florida, #9 Auburn, #2 Alabama, #4 Georgia, #3 Oklahoma, #2 Clemson
Margin of Victory: 38.7 points
2001 Miami
Record: 12-0
Key Wins: #14 Florida State, #14 Syracuse, #12 Washington, #14 Virginia Tech, #4 Nebraska
Margin of victory: 32.9
In short 2019 LSU is the greatest CFB team to ever play.

I hate these kind of lists/arguments
Except that the 2000 ravens defense was GOAT but it’s because I’m a biased ravens fan

Covid year don’t count

7 top-10 wins in 15 games is almost unbelievable. That, with MOV factored in, makes this indisputable.
LSU 2019 G.O.A.T.

Great team, but I feel like they get a tad overrated in these discussions.
They needed a fluke play to survive Boston College. Against Virginia Tech, Kevin Jones ran through them all day and they hung on because the Hokies dropped a late 2-point conversion. They also avoided Oregon in the Rose Bowl, who deserved to be there over Nebraska.
On the other hand, 2013 Florida State gets laughed off in these discussions for some reason, even though they had a margin of victory of 39.5 points and Auburn was the only team to play them within 2 touchdowns.

2019 LSU dropped 50 points in one half against the #3 team in the country. No other team can come close to that dominance.

2020 Bama shouldn't be in the discussion at all.

Although they were possibly one of the most roided-up teams ever, 1995 Nebraska was the most dominant team I've ever seen. 2019 LSU and that Nebraska team were untouchable by the end of the season.
Nebraska beat 4 final top 10 teams by an average of 49-18 including beating a phenomenal undefeated Spurrier-coached UF team 62-24 in the national championship. Nebraska averaged 7 yards per rush for the year, they never allowed 1 sack the whole year, and the closest anyone came to beating them was 14 points.
LSU clearly had the most impressive resume ever and steamrolled everyone in the post-season including defending champ Clemson who was on a 29-game winning streak. Nebraska was a triple-option team and LSU was a passing machine (though we had a great running game too), so it was totally different teams. But those were the two most impressive teams I've ever seen.

2020 was such a fricked up season, no big crowds, no true road games, opt outs—that Alabama team was good, but shouldn’t be in the discussion.

2020 Alabama ? In a Covid pandemic?
They are not like the other two in the comparison. They didn’t dominate like the other two.

Yeah, I agree. They can still claim they had one of the greatest rosters of any team in college, but heralding any team during that disastrous Covid time would not be in good faith.

2020 absolutely doesn’t count
