If the entire student section did this it would be really really LAME.

A bunch of bad arse LSU football players (Tyrann Mathieu, Sam Montgomery, etc.) doing this chant before the game to get themselves fired up = cool.

A bunch of cheese dick 175 lb. white kids doing this in the student section during the game = very uncool.

I'm sure I'll be called old and get ripped for not understanding "swagger".... but, I REALLY hope our student section has more class than to chant this.... and I would like to see our coach not have our team acting like thugs too.

But yes, compared to 20 somethings and students -- or anyone else that acts immature, I guess I am.

Jesus, Cadello...I'm not talking about grown-ups and children doing this shite

but, i do think this is the baddest intro into an opposing stadium ever created

i'm educating the fans of Tiger Football what this team is chanting right before they figuratively tear that mf'er down on the field...just like they did in Knoxville. You bet your arse they will be loud when they are at the tunnel in Tuscaloosa, too.

I did say that spectators =/= gladiators, for the record.

Jefferson and Johns = awesome. Les at the front of the super-fukin'-pumped mob = off the charts awesome.

There's a time and place for everything. If the players are in a confined space, getting themselves mentally ready for the game, I don't really have anything against it. I'm certain that Les Miles didn't teach them the words, but I doubt at that point he's really going to stop them. I think it shows that the players are going into the game with a mindset that, "We are not overlooking this team, we are ready to handle business," and that's a good thing.

Now, if there are broadcast microphones around, or if the players were in public view, then Les probably wouldn't allow it. I'm sure not all players were chanting the obscenities, I wouldn't have, but it doesn't make me right or the players worng.

The difference in the students chanting to "Neck" is that it can be heard by the public (women, children, etc), and the band can't be seen as "sponsoring" or "encouraging" that type of action.

[quote]He is right there, he cant not hear it... I said yesterday, thats who they are, its part of thier culture, you cant change them into something they are not... it serves thier purpose of getting em fired up, they are not in middle school or high school... thats why they play for CLM, he lets em be who they are, (within boundries)... look at the smack talking on Def... it continues only because CLM allows it.. as long as they keep marching through the competition.. I dont think anything will change. IMO [/quot

This. CLM is a players coach; that's his forte. Being a players
Coach today just might not be what mo traditional folk wish it was. CLM may be the best players coach in the NCAA.

ahhem.......maybe these bluehairs you speak of have a legitimate point if and when they object to students chanting this trash. and it is trash.
no way you can defend it.
